This is a nice little quirky cafe that makes you feel at home. The staff are always on hand and the service is great. I loved the vintage vibes and the delicious food they have on offer. I will definitely be coming back very soon!

Cute little cafe, has a vintage vibe to it. Came here for a brunch date with friends and overall, really enjoyed it. The prices were reasonable and had nice portions.

Eclectic surrounds, good value and delicious food. It is a homely place, without slightly worn furniture, a mix of different crockery & silverware. The menu is mostly arepas, available with a range of different meats, vegetables, sauces, salsas etc. My personal favourite is the pollo arepa - the complexity of the flavours and texture is divine. Smoky and tender, with the sweet, piquant & spicy flavours of the cane sugar, lime juice, and hot paprika.

What i love about Fitzroy all combined in this quirky cafe. Eclectic interiors all with references back to Latin America. The Aprea with cheese and beans was recommended by our waitress and I was happy I went with it. Very tasty and something different from the usual wraps I tend to order at other cafes.

if you like quirky cafes then this cafe is a good choice. Their street style South American food is fabulous. I had the spinach and cheese empanadas and they were delicious. They also have a Colombian hot chocolates which you have the option of adding cheese too - quite surprisingly it tastes good.

The decor is great and suits the style of the cafe.

Sonido is Spanish for sound. This Cafe/bar takes you straight to the lanes of South America with their "street style" dishes, colourful walls and playful atmosphere. If you haven't yet had an arepa (stuffed and fried corn dough) you haven't lived, with combinations of cheese and beans, you just can't go wrong. Even my Colombian boyfriend approves! Just a note, it is only open for dinners on Friday nights (usually closes at 4pm), oh and no bookings, but you can usually slide right in no problems.

Approximate cost: $10-15
