Websites built to win you work

Your customer is standing in their kitchen with a phone, deciding whether to call you or go back and try the next result. That decision is the entire job of your website.

Built for the phone first, because that is where the decision gets made — and the desktop follows from it, not the other way round.

Every example runs the same machinery underneath — a page for every service, your reviews on the page, and a call button that's never more than a thumb away. Only the look changes.

The designs are real; the businesses are invented, down to the phone numbers.

Mobile first

Optimised for mobile, and for Google.

Better for users

Most of the people who find you are on a phone, and they do different things there than at a desk: they call, they ask for directions, they tap a quote button. Every example on this page puts those actions under a thumb, and the call button is never more than one tap away.

Better for Google

Google ranks your site on its phone version, not the desktop one — it has indexed the mobile page first for years. If the site is cramped, slow or hard to tap on a phone, that is the version Google is judging. Every example here is built for the phone first and the desktop version grows out of it, so the site Google sees is the good one.

Built to be found

A page per service. Suburb pages only where they earn it.

Google ranks a page, not a business. Most small business sites give it one page with everything on it and a services list that goes nowhere, which is why the only search that finds them is their own name. The usual fix is worse: twenty near-identical suburb pages, which is a named spam pattern.

A page for every service you sell

“Bathroom renovations” gets its own page and its own words, not a line buried on a services page. That is the difference between being found for what you do and only ever being found by people who already know your name. Here is one.

Suburb pages only where they earn it

A page about working in one suburb needs jobs you have done there, photos from them and reviews from those customers. Twenty pages of the same paragraph with the name swapped is a pattern Google names in its spam policy, and we will not build it for you. Here is one that earned it.

The parts a search engine actually reads

Headings in order, one subject per page, links between the pages that belong together, and structured data that states what kind of business you are, where you work and when you are open.

Foundations, not ongoing SEO

This is how the site is built, and it is included in the $99 a month. Chasing a competitive ranking month after month is a different job with a different price, and we would rather say that here than let you assume it.

Before you spend anything

We will build you a sample of your own site, free

Not a template with your logo dropped in. A real page for your trade, your suburb and your reviews, so you can see what yours would look like before you decide anything.

  • Built from your real services, photos and reviews
  • Yours to keep and to show anyone, whether you go ahead or not
  • No deposit, no contract, no obligation to proceed

Ask for it on the call. Most samples are back within a week.

What actually decides it

You have about thirty seconds. Here’s how they’re spent.

Not the slider. Not the stock photo. Not the paragraph about being founded in 2004. A customer arrives with one question — can these people do my job, and can I trust them — and answers it faster than you’d believe.

  1. 0–3sDoes it load

They leave before they have seen anything

On a phone, on patchy reception, a slow site does not get a second chance. There is no bad first impression to recover from, because nothing rendered.

53% of mobile visits are abandoned after three seconds — Think with Google

  2. 3–10sIs it for me

They look for their own job and their own suburb

A homepage that says "quality workmanship, servicing all areas" answers neither question. The sites that win name the actual job and the actual suburb in the first thing you read.

A page for every service you sell — the thing DIY builds never ship

  3. 10–30sCan I trust them

They go looking for proof, and take the first they find

Real reviews, real photos of real jobs, a licence number, a phone number a person answers. Against a competitor showing eighty reviews, "trust us" loses every time.

97% of consumers read reviews before choosing a local business — BrightLocal

  4. 30s+How do I ask

The next step has to be under their thumb

Tap-to-call, a short quote form, hours and service area visible without scrolling. Every extra tap between wanting to contact you and doing it costs enquiries.

76% who search nearby on a phone visit a business that day — Think with Google

What’s in the service

One price. Nothing billed on top.

Design and build
Up to 20 pages at launch, designed around your services, photos and reviews, and the areas you work — mapped out together in week one. Pages added later are included, not a new quote.
Built for the phone
Mobile-first and engineered to load fast, because that is where your customers are and how quickly they leave.
Your reviews on the page
Live widgets showing your Google and Word of Mouth reviews, right where people decide.
Search foundations
Proper page structure, a page for every service, local signals and structured data. A page for a suburb only where there is something real to say about working there — twenty pages of the same paragraph with the name swapped is what search engines penalise. Not ongoing SEO either: that is a separate job and we will say so.
Hosting and security
Australian hosting, SSL, backups and updates. No plugins to rot, which is what breaks most small business websites.
Changes
Included. New fees, new hours, a new staff member, swapped photos. New pages too, whenever the business needs them — not a new quote.
If we got it wrong
We fix it free, with no time limit. Not thirty days. Whenever you find it.
Leaving
12-month minimum from launch, then month to month on 30 days' notice. Your domain, content and photos are yours throughout — and after a year you can take the code too.
The price, in full

$99 per month
+ GST

  • Nothing to pay until your site is live. Not a deposit, not a build fee. And nothing at all if it never launches.
  • 12-month minimum, counted from launch. There is no build fee, so that first year is how the build gets paid for.
  • Then month to month, 30 days' notice, for any reason or none.
  • Would rather own it outright? We build it in WordPress for $3,900 once — you get a login and it is yours. Honest answer: that does not work out cheaper until about year six.
Year one, compared

No $8k invoice. Nothing up front.

The usual arrangement
The build Included $3,000–8,000
Hosting Included $40–90 a month
Changes Included Quoted hourly
Year one $1,188 $3,480–9,080+

The gap is not really the money. It is that a one-off build has no mechanism for the next three years — fees change, hours change, someone joins — and the site quietly goes stale.

Frequently asked questions

How much does a small business website cost?

$99 a month + GST, and that is the whole price. It covers the design, the build, Australian hosting, SSL, backups, security updates and your content changes. There is no build fee and nothing to pay up front, which is the part worth comparing: the usual quote for a site like this is several thousand dollars before hosting and support get billed on top.

How long does it take to build?

Most small business sites go live within a few weeks of us having your content — services, photos, the details customers ask about. The honest variable is usually how quickly that material comes together, and we help you pull it together rather than wait on it.

Will my website show up on Google?

It ships with the foundations search engines need — proper structure, a page per service, local signals, fast load times — which is more than most DIY builds can say. Ranking competitively in your suburb is a different, ongoing job: that's our local SEO service, and the two are built to work together. We'll tell you in the demo whether you actually need both.

I already have a website. Can you work with it?

Bring it to the demo — we'll go through it together on a phone, like a customer would. Sometimes the honest answer is a few fixes to what you have; usually, if it's an older or DIY build, rebuilding on a foundation we can maintain is faster and cheaper than renovating. Either way you'll leave the call knowing which.

What happens if I want to leave?

There's a twelve-month minimum, and we'd rather be straight about why: the usual arrangement is thousands before anyone starts, we charge nothing, so that first year is how the build gets paid for. After twelve months there's no term at all — month to month, thirty days' notice. Your domain stays in your name the whole time, and when you go you take every word and photo on the site with you. After the first year you can ask for the site's code as well, free — and we'll be straight about what that is: the finished pages, with no login and no editing tools, so changing anything means paying a developer to edit files by hand. The site itself is a service we run for you rather than something you're buying in instalments, so it stops when the plan stops. If what you want is a site you own and can edit yourself, tell us in the demo and we'll quote that as a one-off WordPress build instead — yours to host, or we'll keep hosting it for you.
