ASK FOR JACK BROOK BY NAME AT SOUTHSIDE TOYOTA'S USED VEHICLE DEPARTMENT!!!!!

We experienced Jack Brook's ethical Sales practices for ourselves. As far as we could see, Toyota's code of ethics & conduct for selling help was achieved 'to the letter!'

Had our Prius car towed to Southside Toyota Service after it broke down. This was just a month or so after it had had a major service there at a cost of over $1000. They had the car for a week before giving a diagnosis that the inverter, the small battery and everything around it needed replacing at a total cost of $5000 - most of which was labour. We decided to have it towed to another mechanic. Southside Toyota charged us $360 for the diagnostics they'd done, and didn't even hand over the full diagnostics sheet. Our new mechanic said when he picked our car up it was still in pieces and he spent hours putting it back together. He sourced a second hand part with long warranty and is charging us $1000. Will have the car fixed in a day. Will NEVER use Southside Toyota Service again. You're paying for a lot of middle men and not much expertise.

Bought the car on 27 Feb 2015 from Southside Toyoa. The dashboard was rattling since new. Southside Toyota tried to fix it since the car was new, but in vain. I have been subjected lots of inconveniences, road testing the car with Southside Toyota many many times including at least 2 occasions with Toyota Motor Corporation Australia (TMC) representative and the car has been in and out of the garage to "fix" the fault. Each time the rattle returned not long after they "fixed" it and new rattles appeared from another areas of the dashboard. It is now 5 September 2018 and the car dashboard is still rattling. Southside Toyota advised that according to TMC, such rattlings were within specifications!
I do not accept that the rattling is within specifications and am definitely not feeling happy driving.
Clearly, Southside Toyota is incapable of fixing the fault. Just Google Southside Toyota and quite a number of bad reviews are present. Both Southside Toyota and TMC have also refused to attend to the fault by saying that it was within specifications.
Also, beware that Southside Toyota also stated in writing on 27 Feb 2018 that "rattles and adjustments warranty only applies first 1,000 kms". This has breached The Australian Consumer Law/Trade Practices Act.
This is a factual account of my experience and I hope it is informative to interested parties. I am now left with no other options but to seek legal redress.

Bought a new car from southside earlier this year... shopped at other toyota dealers and found this one to be one of the more honest dealers...
Very pleasant negotiation experience.. none of the "back and forth" to the manager etc... in face the manager came out to help us get the deal we wanted.
Our Corolla turned up 2 days early which was a pleasant surprise and all accessories were fitted and ready to go. We even got a full tank of fuel without having to ask for it!
Finance person was easy to talk to and went through EVERYTHING with us and Rachel was very helpful with the protection package too (she's is easy on the eye too!)
Overall, I'd recommend them as a place to buy a new toyota.
