My girlfriend and I celebrated our 5 year anniversary recently and I had to take my girlfriend here because she loves it so much. Unfortunately we were disappointed, the desserts didn't taste fresh and the staff didn't seem interested, rude infact. Not such a great experience on this occasion. Unsure if we will return.

They have a great range of desserts and drinks here. The ambience is lovely, as it has a romantic and dimly-lit setting. I would advise booking in advance so you don't have to awkwardly stand by the door for 10 minutes while waiting for a table (especially during winter!) like I did.

It's been a very long time since I last came here.
It's as I remember it. Quiet mood lighting and some good sweets and drinks. Good place for some cosy time with a significant other.

My girlfriend loves this place, a great atmosphere and friendly staff, not to mention delicious desserts and cocktails. My girlfriend tried the toblerone and red dragonfly cocktails, she said they were delicious, a real indulgence as they are priced at around $16 each, I don't really see the worth there but she did. We ordered the Spats tasting plate, it contained a couple of dips and an assortment of cheeses. Was very tasty, but the chocolate lava cake for dessert for fabulous. I definite must try. Prices vary, with mains starting from $13 and desserts around $10.

I went to this cafe about a month ago and it was lovely. Coffee was great and the dessert selection was large. I ordered a crepe and was very good. Prices are very good too.

I went two weeks ago after being told it was a nice place to go for dessert and I really enjoyed it - especially since it was a 45 minute drive from where I live. Servings were generous and did taste delicious. Service was good as well and staff were friendly. Definitely going back sometime.

Approximate cost: $15

We once really liked this place but it has certainly gone downhill of late. The prices are quite expensive for what they offer now. We ordered banana crepes with chocolate sauce. Because the menu item specifically identified chocolate sauce, we were expecting a decent amount of chocolate sauce but when it came out, it was barely a drizzle – more of a garnish than anything else. The crepe and banana itself was OK, but without the chocolate sauce it was very boring and certainly not worth the price. This type of experience has occurred the last few times we have been here so I think we have given them the benefit of the doubt now. It does have a cosy atmosphere but that's not enough. We wont be back.

Approximate cost: $ $15.50 - $31.50

This place offers a great range of different foods and drinks. We mainly come here for desserts and hot drinks (which have been delicious!), however they also offer main meals. They have a variety of different desserts that you can choose from ranging from a basic choc nut sundae to waffles or crepes. A great place to hang out at night just chilling and enjoying each others company!

Spats Café is a place of special memories for your reviewer. He first took his Lady Myrtle Marmaduke there on their first date 20 years ago. The Café is much like it was then. It is a place of great character and charm and perfect for intimate coffees and dinners. The Marmadukes returned there recently.

The two hot chocolates on the menu were the standard hot chocolate ($6.00) and the hot chocolate with Baileys Irish Cream ($9.25). As readers will know Merkel Marmaduke never shies away from new hot chocolate experiences so he chose the hot chocolate with Baileys. It was worth the expense. The hot chocolate came in an elegant glass with a handle and a saucer. It came with a marshmallow and was topped with cream sprinkled with cinnamon and cocoa. The hot chocolate was creamy and the Baileys gave it just the right sweetness and intoxicating after taste.
