I purchased a Scoopon for a spa package for two, and this place certainly was not the experience I was looking for. The decor is a little dingy, with the floors needing a serious mop and the doors to each room needing a paint job. As we filled in our details on the forms they handed us, the staff stood around gossiping and laughing about previous clients. One of the girls was wandering around with her shirt undone.
When I was taken into the treatment room the floor and sink were really dirty, with used cotton tips on the floor and some sort of mould/rust on the sink. The walls of the treatment rooms are only temporary, so you could hear all the discussions going on in the other rooms.
When I opted not to take the extra face peel treatment the beautifician offered me, she was quite rude and said to me "Don't you want to take care of your skin? Everyone else just says yes!"
In the middle of my treatment she left the room without telling me anything for about 15-20 minutes, and was answering phones, making appointments and I assume eating her lunch as she came back smelling like curry.
I'm sure if you just wanted a quick wax or nail treatment this place would be fine, but it's certainly not what it's advertised to be.

I also came in the other day for some waxing and the prices are reasonable and they take their time with it!Definately the best beauty salon I have been to in a long time. The waxing is really professional-almost pain free, and the facial that I just had was amazing! I would highly reccommend this salon.

I go to Stairway to Beauty on "Mad Mondays" to have my legs waxed. Half leg wax only costs $20 - that's unbeatable value!

I went here for a wax and although the salon could do with a bit of a make over, the staff were great and did a through job. It's a little pricy but overall a great experience.

The staff at Stairway to Beauty are always extremely professional, warm and friendly. Each treatment I have had has been great and considering its in the heart of the city, I have had quick maintenance treatments done (when I'm in a hurry during lunch) to very relaxing facials and massages which have at times, been that relaxing that I've fallen asleep. Range of treatments are extensive and the products used are the best. Considering its in the heart of the city, the prices are excellent. I would highly recommend this salon.
I had a facial done by Summer. She was very, very thorough and meticulous. My only concern was that she did not steam my face before performing extractions, but she still did a pretty good job.

the staff in this beauty / hair salons are so lovely. they are very attentive to our needs and dont try to sell us anything we dont want. their service is personalised and i always walk away feeling beautiful

That sounds absolutely terrible. I would have made a complaint to the owner, I can not imagine anyone enjoying that experience.

I would have made a complaint to the manager but from what I understand she was the one doing my treatment, so I don't think it would have made a difference. I really wouldn't recommend buying the Scoopon deal, it's not worth your money.
