I've been to Stalactites a few times, and each time it's been great! They get really busy, especially after work on Fridays, so you might have to wait a while to get a table if you don't have a booking. I've only ever tried the Kids Calamari (yes, you can order from the Kids Menu without being kid!). I can't get myself to try anything; it's just too good! Best of all, they open 24 hours (excluding major public holidays), so it's a great place to get a bite to eat after a night out.

Awesome for a midnight snack especially after clubbing. Central location, always busy and great kebabs!
Love the food and love the atmosphere. Giros is authentic and tasty. Every time I eat there I leave completely satisfied. The best place in Melbourne for relaxed casual Greek dining, thanks guys!
Approximate cost: $30
Love the food there. One of the only greek resto I go to because of it affordability and taste. Always packed and it opends 24hrs, 7 days a week. Always a good spot while having a big night out in the city.
Approximate cost: $15
this restaurant is very popular, they serve very nice traditional Greek food, that is good quality. the service was ok, the great this is they are open 24 hours and close the the heart of the city
Approximate cost: $20
Cypriot tennis star Marcos Bhagdatis' place to visit when he's in town is Stalacties. When the World Cup was on with Australia vs Greece - they closed the street around this restaurant. Police stop by and park in the no parking zone whilst they wait for a Souvlaki or two. Enough said! An institution of Greek food for more than 20 years, running 24/7 this place consistenly provides at any time of the day or night great Greek food. Whether it be Gyros, spanakopita, greek cheese fried or cabbge rolls in vine leaves, it's always good. Prices used to be very reasonable and have gone up, however you also need to consider the location which is convenient. The place is packed on Friday nights and weekends so expect to wait a while. Service is ok, not fantastic, however when you are that busy, no one seems to be overly bothered.
Approximate cost: $12-20
I remember walking past this restaurant early on a Friday night and thinking how dreadfully tacky it looked. But at 2am it was very tempting and the stalactite ceiling didn't offend me half as much. The food was absolutely delicious. Restaurant was full even at such a late hour. The saganaki is the best.
Great! Came back again and it was even better than the last time. Just keeps getting better! Had the dips and bread, saganaki and the lemon lamb from the specials board. WOW!
Approximate cost: $20
I've been to stalactites a few times and have found the service differs. One time i went and sat in, the waiter was great. another time the man serving me was rather grumpy and rude when i pointed out he had got my order wrong! The food used to be great especially the souvlakis but the price has gone up recently and I havent been back as you can get equally great souvlakis elsewhere for cheaper.
Approximate cost: $23
Usually quite good food 24/7.
one of a kind sort of place with its decor. improved since its renovations. but maintained its quirkiness. icon of melb city kebab wating. popular and busy constantly. good soulavkis. not too pricey.
This place has been around forever. Good food 24/7.
