One of the better pub meals I have experienced. Plenty of variety on the menu other than steak, pasta and chicken parmas.

Hideous service. Don't waste your money. Dirty. Staff rude and lazy. Should be ashamed. Pretty sad when a towns pub is unwelcoming to customers. Second time I've been disappointed.

This restaurant is more on the average side when it comes to service. The staff weren't very polite when finding us a table, but eventually got us one near the back of the restaurant. The menu is reasonably priced and the serving sizes are quite large. I received my meal pretty quickly and the beach is just across the road, so it had a pretty relaxed atmosphere.

Approximate cost: $15

Staff are always friendly, food is cheap and the servings are large. Salads leave a lot to be desired. Food is general pub style with a Tapas menu, which is great for night out without hurting your bank account and the again the servings are shockingly large for a tapas menu. Food is not 5 star but for the price its nice. Limited wine list, but what is offered is good.

Approximate cost: $15

We have eaten at this hotel for years and the food has always been better than the other hotels on the peninsula. The atmosphere is really good and the views across the road to the beach are very relaxing.

Approximate cost: $25 to $30

We were in Dromana for the day and stopped in for lunch as nothing else appeared to be open. Stella's Dromana Hotel is a big venue that is one-part pub, one-part TAB/pokies and one-part family bistro. It's a bit downmarket in some parts (pub, TAB/pokies area specifically) but a bit nicer in the bistro. We sat in the big open space with the glass ceiling, which was sunny and bright and a lot more comfortable than the other parts of the bistro looked. The service is as expected, average - nothing special but nothing notably bad about it.

I had a salad with grilled chicken. It was presented nicely and came with the dressing on the side (as requested). The chicken had a nice sweet curry-esque flavour and was grilled perfectly. A surprisingly nice dish for a pub bistro. My husband had a pizza and he wasn't as happy. The pizza base was basically pita bread, and it was burnt around the edges, just not the right kind of base for a pizza. He was happy with the topping quality/quantity but said that the pizza base let it down.

I think that if you have no other choice then Stella's Dromana Hotel wouldn't be a terrible place to have lunch, but I wouldn't seek it out specifically. It's possible that the atmosphere may improve during the summer season, when more people are around.
