We moved into a rental property that was not up to standard. The previous occupant was the owner who had left the home dirty, after we were promised the property would be professionally cleaned from top to bottom. Rubbish was also left behind all over the backyard and in the garage. When we received the entry report from your agency it was even noted that the house was dirty as well as the trash that was left behind. And we were expected to move in under those conditions? Had the previous occupant been a tenant their bond would’ve been snatched up in a heart beat.

The home got a professional clean as well as the rubbish being gather by my husband and then removed by the cleaner.

We emailed the property manager who introduced herself last Monday 07/02. My husband responded the following day as he had some questions regarding the property 08/02 as well as sending through a follow up email on 10/02. No response. I called the agency yesterday to speak to Giselle, our property manager. She was not in the office. Kaitlyn was going to get her to contact us first thing this morning. And still we wait. An entire week has gone by with not even an acknowledgement of email received. Funnily enough, Giselle states in her email that she is there for anything we may need.

Given our initial experience with Stockland & Leggo, it’s obvious it wasn’t just unlucky and that their service in general is seriously lacking.

If you are a tenant, beware. It was all hunky dory when we were living in the property. When it was time to get our bond money back, the property manager(who shall be named Mr SG) gave us the run around. Mind you, we always paid all our rent on time, and caused no issues for either the landlord or the agent during our tenancy. The keys were handed over well before our end of lease and all pending payments were settled then and there. SG kept dodging our calls/SMS and rarley responded to emails. It took him 3 weeks to initiate the bond return process. He finally took action only because we escalated to his manager. 3 Weeks of running around, and no action. But when the manager gets involved, 30 minutes and Mr SG got his act together.

Approximate cost: $380
