Subsolo is located on easy to access KING st, it is a little loud at times and can be a little pricey - their 3 cold cuts of meat with bread and pickles is $25 (more than a sandwich!) I think maybe $15 would be a more fairer price.
Nice atmosphere and good staff.

Have been here twice with friends. Nice decor but depending on where one is seated, some areas can be a little dark and hard to read what's on the menu.
Overall, good quality spanish food. Had the Garlic Mushrooms, Salt and Pepper Squid, Zucchini Flowers, Pork Chorizo and a couple of Portuguese Peri Chicken Espetadas to share amongst 5 people and the food was wonderful. Servings were decently proportioned to allow for at least a couple of servings more per person.

Approximate cost: $20

I really like this place, especially with the Entertainment book discount but either way it's worth a visit. The food is great, and quite generous I think for tapas. My favourite is the sangria cocktail. As it is so close to the Theatre Royal its a favourite spot for pre theatre dinner but good for a night out any time.

Subsolo is perfect for anyone willing to try tapas! I went with my partner who had never had tapas before and she was very impressed! Nicely decorated and quite busy when we went, but there was little to no wait for our tapas! Not quite as good but almost comparable to the tapas I had when in Spain.

If you do intend on going, get either one of the degustation menus or several tapas sized items, don't get a main! It defeats the purpose of having tapas.

Approximate cost: $15-25

Was at Subsolo on a monday night with friends. Has a spread of tapas and a glass of wine each. Used the 25% off from the Entertainment Book. Just returning from Barcelona a week ago the tapas brought me back to my holiday. Good quality Spanish food. Beautiful decor and staff service.

Approximate cost: $15-20

I really wanted to like this place. I really like the decor and staff is attentive, but the quality, is not all there, at least not for the price you pay. My meat was dry and veggies rather cold. I liked the wine though.

This cave-like, modern and uber trendy Spanish tapas bar in the city provides a great atmosphere for either an intimate dinner for 2 or a larger group celebration as we were recently. The service could not have been more attentive and personal, with our waiter always appearing before we even knew we wanted him. Glasses were kept full with sangria and cocktails with the recommendation of the house specialty - espetadas (portugese charcoal skewers) certainly not disappointing. Gorgeous tapas dishes (generous sizes)were enjoyed as well, such as chorizo, prawns and squid. A great night out!
