All you can, a good selection if you go gourmet but a little pricey and i dont like the time limits or paying for the bbq'er each time. I think it should be provided. The place is busy and the staff was nice enough.

I have been to Suminoya about 3-4 times and loved every time when I dined there. It is great to dine with friends to share the bbq and I have also dined with one other person and equally fun.

Highly recommend you to make bookings and they seem to have two seatings for dinner and each lasts for 90 minutes. They will also remind you for last orders before the time is up.

Atmosphere is always good - restaurant is always crowded with customers.

Staff is always busy taking orders and most of the times they are friendly and accommodating.

Food quality is good for all you can eat Japanese BBQ buffet. They have two types of buffet, the normal and premium/gourmet which has better cut of meat and sashimi. The portions are really small, so you will have to order more plates than usual. But once you have been there, you would know how much to order.

The mesh for BBQ is $2 additional to the buffet and to replace it cost additional $2 which in my opinion should be provided free of charge.

Overall, good food with plenty of varieties and why not try this place if you havent.

Hi thanks for the review. I was wondering about the mesh cost. How does it work?

Love this place. This is the place for great Japanese barbeque! The buffet meals are always packed with options, and they're seasonal specials are extra delicious. We come to this place for dinner (more value!!) and are always walking away bloated. Waiting periods are sometimes a bit long, but it's always worth it when your juicy, succulent meats come rolling along. The meat is always well seasoned and great. Seafood is delicious too. The sashimi is a standout! Always fresh and yum.
Definitely worth the price !

Approximate cost: $49 p/p

If you want the best yakiniku in Sydney, then this is it. While a little more costly than it's sister Kohya in Neutral Bay, the charcoal cooking gives it the win. If you're not fussed with paying a little more for some of the most authentic Japanese food in Sydney, then this is your place. Great atmosphere and nice staff, too. Oh, and to the people complaining about smoke, if you don't like smoke, don't go for yakiniku. Highly, seriously recommended.

This is the best place for Japanese style barbecue all you can eat buffet!
Everything is tasty on the menu and of the finest quality.
I've came to dine here about a dozen times and each time the food is awesome ^^!

Only let down is the air vents which kind of lack any suction, you may choke on smoke!

Price is decent.

90 minute time limit

Delicious Japanese barbecue. Their ingredients all seem very fresh and well prepared. It is a bit pricey though at around 50 dollars. I'd suggest going around 8 as the 1 hour time limit doesn't apply as it is the last round.

Approximate cost: $48.00

Loved their beef tongue, a must have if you go to this restaurant. There is now a limit of 2 servings of beef tongue per person due to popularity. Their dessert is quite nice too, liked the green tea ice cream with red bean paste with cereal on the side. It can get quite smokey in the restaurant though.

All you can eat with some of the freshest ingredients. Great service but I don't like the rushed time limit for ordering (prefer to take my time) and is pretty pricey. Nice for a special occasion though.

Approximate cost: $50
