i have had both my children at this hospital and am about to have my third there, they provide exceptional materity services including their midwifery which they send staff all over the place (even to melton) so that your appointment are easy and close to home

I had my son there and the midwives and staff were fantastic. I was worried because it was a public hospital. Let's just say I tried private and found the staff there rude and unhelpful. All staff were nothing but courteous and supportive. I had a Caesar there and the staff in the operating room were so compassionate and great!
If you are going to have a baby there DO NOT WORRY. They are fantastic.

Approximate cost: $0

I have had two babies at Sunshine (Werribee wouldn't have me because my BMI is too high) and been cared for by the midwives both times. They have always been fantastic. My son has also been cared for by Paddy Dewan - the best peadiatric urologist in the country I am sure. He has always been well cared for - sometimes the wait to be seen is long but usually it is reasonable (half an hour or less). The first op he had was meant to be day surgery but he remained in for several days due to complications and doctors and nurses were all very helpful.

I took my grand-daughter to the Emergency Dept.& waited for 3 hours at 11pm for help in the emergency waiting room. When we did get to see a doctor it then took over half an hour to get the medication. Then it was only half of what the doctor ordered.

It took three months to get an appointment. Good luck seeking assistance as to which department you are suppost to go to. Expect to wait at least 2 hours before seeing a medical practitioner. Once in the consultation room, don't expect any support or answers to your questions. I pretty much felt as though the staff didn't care much for their jobs or lacked the compentence to carry out the task. Also, expect to have an additional consultation at least 6 weeks later. Very dissapointing and frustrating
