Way over priced for a supermarket. You can buy a lot of thing's cheaper at spar.
Claiming transport costs is an outright lie, if they get 5000 items and mark up just 10c they doubled the transport costs.
The petrol is theft. And the RIBS prices went up 20% or more recently.
All in all, buy from the mainland.

Would like to thank very thoughtful and helpful staff at IGA RI for helping my husband locate his lost wallet. Everything of importance was in the wallet, so a great relief when they had it put away safe and sound for my husband's collection. They even checked their camera footage - thanks you Staff at RI IGA

I shop here mainly. Overall good. Of late fruit & veg have been terrible for length of lasting and selection. No silverbeet for weeks now, or if they do have it, it is halfway rotten. Have recently thrown out lots of vegies before we can get to eat them. This store is one of many asking SMBIlanders to support them, we try to, but they should look after us better also. We live on another of the islands, have no island car, have to walk to the ferry, so it is just not possible to shop daily. Another of my relatives has also found the same problems of late. I recently bought from a mainland fruit & veggie shop, whilst the selection was limited, all that I bought was much fresher than IGA Russell Island and lasted a lot longer! The owners of the shopping centre have recently repainted the exterior and that is very much appreciated, but I would rather have FRESH fruit and vegies!

This is a large store, proving all basic needs for the Island and alot of specialty items. Great service from local staff, has recently changed hands to a local owner. The food is fresh and of great value.

As the largest supermarket in the Southern Moreton Bay Islands (SMBI), Supa IGA Russell Island provides an essential service to not only Russell Islanders, but also the residents of other islands, particularly Lamb. As none of the SMBI have a bridge to the mainland, carrying large loads on the passenger ferry can be more than a drag. It must have been with much delight, therefore, that the residents of Russell Island greeted the opening of their first "real" supermarket in August 2008.

Supa IGA Russell Island is a large, spacious and well appointed supermarket. Equal in size to a standard Woolies or Coles, this IGA provides all the essential grocery needs of the community and more. Prices are generally competitive with mainland Supa IGA stores. There is a reasonably sized fruit and vegetable section, a particularly well stocked deli, and a large selection of meats. The only downside is that sometimes the store is out of stock of items essential to me, for example, 2 litre bottles of Coke. This is because the store is reliant upon its products being barged into the island. Having recently changed ownership, Supa IGA Russell Island is promising an improved service and cosmetic changes to the store have already begun. It now opens from 7.00 a.m. until 8.00 p.m. 7 days a week which is an absolute God send as there are no convenience stores on the island.
