List your business for freeI took my car here for a service a few weeks ago after purchasing a voucher off one of those scoupon-coupon discount sites some time ago. The voucher itself was probably about $80-90 and it did clearly mention that oils, parts & fluids were not included.
When I made the booking I asked for a quote on how much this was likely to cost given the age and type of vehicle I was having serviced and I was quoted about $100-$150 and when I actually bought my car in I was once again quoted about $100-$150.
So I was surprised that when I picked up my car I was charged nearly double what they quoted. I shouldn't have really been that surprised as everyone seems to know that when it comes to servicing your car it is an invitation to be ripped off but, being the optimist, I thought I'd give them the benefit of the doubt.
The service itself seems to have gone ok as the car is running much smoother and they did provide me with a small list of extra work that is required. At least they were honest enough to explain that it was not urgent and they were mostly trivial oils leaks. I did find it strange that they pumped my tires up to 42-43 psi but they've not exploded yet so maybe I can make up the extra money with improved fuel efficiency?
They took credit card and allowed me to drop my car off at 4:30 and pick it up at the same time the next day so I didn't need to take anytime off work, which is a big positive.
Overall this place is ok, a quick wash of the car and more honest pricing would have me raving about this place but given it was a voucher I guess they aren't really banking on repeat business? I probably wouldn't have paid full price for what I got but I might go back.
