The vast array of cakes here is stunning. I have never walked past without them catching my eye! The coffee is fantastic, and the staff are lovely.

Great array of tasty cakes. A fantastic display of cakes pointing to the common area of Market town mall is bound to catch your eye. Eat in or take away options available. Recommend the Rhubarb cake (if its available). It's in the shape of a ball with crumble on the outside and a layer of a sweet rhubarb mousse on the inside. Exquisite. Full cakes are available as well as slices.

Approximate cost: $5+

Without doubt the best coffe, cakes and cafe food available in the hunter. The owners certainly know how do do it right being the original owners of Euro Patisserie at Lambton and the have done it even better at Sweet Poison. An outstanding gourmet of cakes that rival anywhere in the world. We have always found the pricing to be reasonable and it's obvious that some reviewers don't understand the cost of operating a business especially within a shopping complex, let alone being able to make a profit.

This is definitely the best coffee and cake in town! And in the winter time, they have the yummiest pies and sausage rolls.

**UPDATE**
On my most recent visit, I unfortunately have to take back the comments below (from my initial review)
Since my last visit to Sweet Poison, the prices have risen, the quality of food and coffee has dramatically declined & the staff have developed attitude.
The increasing cost of running a small business is no excuse to inflate prices to a ridiculous level. Unfortunately I think complacency has taken over. It seems that Sweet Poison believes that because it has been mildly successful, it has the right to forgo quality and cash in on unsuspecting, loyal customers.

I'm all about a good coffee.
These guys deliver that, and they serve their latte's in Bodum glasses - this is good!
They have the best range of designer baked goods in Newcastle. They are expensive, but are well worth the money.
Cafe's and restaurants within shopping centers are generally horrible - with bad food straight from a 70's cook book, foul coffee, and a waitress incapable of cracking a smile. None of these things can be said about Sweet Poison

Approximate cost: $Too much
