What can we say? We've been to Tantra a few times now and each time the experience is fantastic! This last time we went near Valentine's day this year -- and had the feast of all feasts! I couldn't believe they had a vegetarian tandoori entree -- absolutely delightful! We ordered 3 mains (piggies, I know... but Indian leftovers are ALWAYS delicious, so we had no issues with the over-ordering! ha!) - Beef Rogan Josh, Aloo Gobi and the most beautiful Shahi Paneer! If you love robust flavour you have to try it! The Biryani (vegetable) was a bit salty, but I'd give it another try. The servers & host are impeccable - attentive - and prompt. Dining atmosphere is romantic. Food, brilliant. GO GO GO!!! :) To read more detail about our Tanta visits, you can check out my blog post here http://twobearsandafork.blogspot.com.au/2014/02/tantra-doncaster-east.html

I was recommended to go to this restaurant after moving to the area. I was not disappointed! The take away menu is fantastic and the food is amazing. Just as good as Roti Boti in Hampton in my opinion! Actually has spice when you ask for hot! This will be my go-to indian takeaway for the forseeable future! Plus the restaurant looks nice inside and I would dine-in with friends.

After I went overseas and had the best Indian food I had ever had I was worried about coming back to Melbourne and never finding any Indian restaurants up to my standard. After going to Tantra, I was pleasantly surprised. The food was delicious, in particular the Lamb Madras and Palak Paneer. Nitin the manager remembers everyone by name making the experience even better. As it is so busy sometimes service can be a little behind but the quality and taste makes up for it threefold. Highly recommend

A group of four of us went for dinner there for a relaxing meal and catchup. First thing to strike us was the personal service. I say personal because they remember everything about your order, likes and dislikes even after your first visit - including your name. The food presentation was gorgeous in unique crockery etc. I remember thinking "that doesn't look like a lot of food" but it was like Mary Poppins' bag - food just kept coming and coming out of this what seemed like smallish bowls. In the end, we couldn't finish the food we ordered. We had a wonderful experience and would definitely go back. Cant remember the final bill amount, but do remember thinking "is that all?" Also - you felt like you had a proper wholesome dinner - no regret food at all! Yum!

You will be amazed. You have to experience the owner/manager is exceptional at remembering your name and foods you like or had before or even what type of wine you prefer. He knows his dishes fluently and you know when you have been served by him. But you can only find this out when you go the second time. I haven't been for approx 3 months and he remembered my name and what I like. FANTASTIC

The service is amazing. The owner will remember your meal with no notes and can explain every dish. One of the best indian restaurants I have been to. The value is very good as well.

Very happy with this restaurant, very friendly staff, have been there 3 times now, going again tonight. Last time I had a special old bottle of wine I had kept for a special day, and they were very attentive, decanting it to get rid of the sediment and letting it breath for a while to get the best out of it. Food was superb as was the service. Highly recommended, and I don't say it lightly.
