Summary: Go elsewhere and save the hassle.

2nd Jan - Emailed me a quote of $49 to repair the battery on my HTC One M8.

4th Jan - When I brought the phone in to be repaired they visually assessed the battery was swollen & quoted $150 with a genuine battery that they had in stock & could get overnight. Left phone with them. No Repair Notice supplied (against Australian Consumer Law).

5th Jan - Went to pick up to be told "we didn't do the job & tried calling you" (bit hard as they had my phone) as you wanted a genuine battery. Claimed they could get a genuine battery in a few days & would call & email when it was in. Took a $50 deposit for the battery.

18th Jan - Still no contact from them so I got another company to repair the phone for $99.

31st Jan - Phone repaired by other company (no contact still from QPR). That afternoon I headed back to Telechoice Rouse Hill (aka Quick Phone Repairs) & spoke with [redacted personal identifier] (who I had dealt with the entire time) for a refund. He refused as "I ordered this battery in for you, you should have called us, why should I take the hit for it".

I was arguing he had my email & phone number to contact me. He claimed they don't communicate with customers over email (despite quoting me from their site contact form via email). He then claimed another employee had tried to call me twice, but refused to show evidence, & would not even confirm the number they were calling (I strongly believe they lost my contact number).

After an extensive conversation he refused to refund my deposit & instead called security because I referred to him as "dodgy".

Security arrived & I felt intimidated, anxious, & under duress to accept the battery & a charging cable (which are not worth $50). I felt I had no other option but to accept or leave with nothing & risk being ejected from store.

He gave me a cable, & I now find out the battery he sold me is NOT genuine either.

The matter is now in the hands of the ACCC and NSW Fair Trading.
