I have been a customer at Y Teng Tiong Optometrist for 20 years and have never switched to another Optometrist. Teng, the owner and optometrist is very genuine and professional, always take time to examine my eyes fully to ensure my eyes are fully checked up, healthy and the appointment always goes over time! Very attention to details and caring. My family and I buy contact lenses and my glasses through them and the prescriptions are always correct. Last week, I have some irritations in my eye which stings and is teary and red. Despite Teng is fully booked on the day, he squeezed me into his busy schedule when he heard that my case is very urgent when i rang up that morning. He checked my eyes using his machines and told me the redness (little inflammation) was caused by something coming from external, but not internal. Over-the counter eye drops were prescribed (no contact lens allowed for a few days) and i used it for a few days as instructed, my eyes were good again. Whenever I have an eye problem, I usually go and see Teng Tiong first rather than the GP, as they can only examine my eyes with their naked eye and a torch, no machines etc, and kept referring me to eye specialists which costs a fortune which is not necessary if the root cause if found or if the irritation is minimal and can be fixed by the optometrist, as they have seen many more pair of eyes than any GP, i think.
