I would not recommend this business. Had chips that looked old and tasted old and re heated in old cooking oil. Fish tasted hot but not cooked , batter had that old cooking oil taste. What a disaster . Never will go back.

The food is very traditional and very tasty, well cooked and staff friendly . Shop needs some British décor. will go again

My wife& I ordered whiting& chips we got a few crumbs of fish covered in batter chips were ok.will never go there again

Being British I was keen to try this however it was disappointing. The chips were old and over cooked. The fish didn't taste fresh, although the batter wasn't bad. The staff were friendly but I would be loathe to try this again.

The British Chip Shop is a fantastic new traditional British restaurant in Penrith, they sell authentically cooked British food. I went there to eat cod fish and chips with gravy, the fish had a delicious crunchy batter and the gravy tasted great on the chips. I want to try their battered mars bar!
