This place has character! Tucked away off the main drag of Newtown, the atmosphere is relaxing and the food and drink is nice and cheap. I've had many a Sunday afternoon disappear here!

Had heard of the great food at this venue from a friend so booked a table at the bistro for my birthday. Food took one hour to come out at which time we were all ready to leave.

Approximate cost: $18

Had lunch here today for the first time in a year and it is still just as great as always. The food is spot on and cheap and the beers are too. Yes, the bar is very much a dive, but that adds to the ambience of the place. It hasn't sold it's soul to the fancy shmancy pubs which renovate and then jack up the prices. Yet, it has a really nice outdoor area. It is an interesting place for people watching as well! Lot's of characters.

Approximate cost: $20

Probably the best pub in Sydney. Go there for a weekend lunch and you'll see why. It is always packed. Cool retro furniture and an awesome jukebox playing non mainstream music.

Terrific pub with lots of character, The courthouse has one of the best beer gardens in Newtown. Nice outdoor area with big sails to cover overhead, does get very busy so the queues for the bar can be quite big but ive never had to wait long for my food to be ready. Great menu with lots to choose from.
