This is probably one of the better places to eat if you're on campus, but otherwise a bit pricey. Decent coffee spot.
Approximate cost: $10
Great if you're studying in the library and don't want to walk to the campus centre for some real coffee and nice food.
There's a big dining space too.
The souvlaki is delicious
Great coffee, good variety of fresh food, wonderful staff. A busy, noisy place where students and staff catch up. Nothing is too much trouble here. Everything from fresh souvlakis to sushi rolls.
Approximate cost: $7.50
Located on-campus at Monash university, this cade is aptly named the Den as it is located in a den like setting behind one of the impressive libraries that Monash uni boasts. Go there for a great Caesar salad or an afternoon beer.
The den is the café beneath the Matheson library, if is always crowded. They have all sorts of snakes and sandwiches along with pasta. The food quality is standard comparing to the other food outlet on campus is good. The prices are reasonable for the amount of food.
The Den is an institution @ Monash Uni if you're after good coffee (cheapest on campus). They serve light bites (sandwiches, sushi rolls, pies, sausage rolls, quiches) , to heavier fare (fish and chips, curries, pastas, soups, casseroles, kievs or whatever happens to be the chef's flavour of the month. Their kebabs are the best ever & I always make time to chat to the old fellow who puts them together because he puts a smile on my face. You can also pick up some decent smoothies too. Look out for the friendly faces of Sam, Wes & the rest of the crew.
Approximate cost: $6-8
