reat service, excellent food, incredible selection of beer and cider. A good place for a family meal or just to hang out at for a few drinks.
Great pub with a focus on atmosphere, all the staff are relaxed but still give great service. food portions are huge
Came here for a family dinner and did not leave disappointed at all. Have not been back because Flemington is further away then we are at but they are really good and present a reasonable meal.
Was going to see family and stopped here for lunch. Just like a normal pub with the average pub meals, but I recommend the food as it was beautiful.
The way this place has been done up is really quite beautiful. Visited on a Monday night for a meal so it was quiet but not dead. The food was enjoyable, nothing spectacular, and quite large serves. Will head back there sometime on a weekend for a drink as it is such a nice looking building.
Approximate cost: $18
They have done a beautiful restoration on this large heritage building. The decor inside is eclectic and stylish. The Moroccan lamps are stunning. It's nice to sit outside and have a wine on a sunny day.
On the downside I found some of the staff to be arrogant and unfriendly and the atmosphere is a bit rowdy.
The parma, is really nice and such good value in their special deal. I will come back because the staff are friendly and the food is nice
Very clean and nice. Food was ok, would go back for a bit to eat. They have specials on Wednesday night parma was good for the money.
The best thing about this place is the 'skinny' mirror in the bathroom (what girl doesn't like to see themselves 7 foot tall and svelte?!). The worst thing is the staff (pompous and arrogant) and the Saturday night crowd (its more like a tacky inner-city nightclub then a bar). I love the decor but other than that, it's nothing special.
I've been to the Doot several times on Wednesday nights for $12 parma. The parma is one of the best I've tasted - nice and thick chicken breast with ham, sauce and plenty of cheese! The chips are good too. No table service which is fine, and they do beers by the jug for reasonable (average) prices.
Update 6/3/09 - The parma seems to have gone downhill and is now more like a schnitzel than a chicken breast. Shame since I really like the place.
Approximate cost: $12
