Fun local place with big screens and atmosphere for watching all your favourite sports. The schnitzel /parma is enormous and all the meals are great value for pub grub

Pleasant bistro environment and staff. Food presentation, appeal and serving size sub par for prices

This place is a little inconsistent. I have been here and had great steak and then been disappointed at other times. The venue is quite nice though a little dark. Over the years they have become a little pricey but with the deals they offer from time to time you can still manage to get a good deal regularly.

Approximate cost: $25

I used to live one street away from this pub. Every time I went, I was somewhat always disappointed. Inside its a nice place. Has a "fancy pub" side with a restaurant and a "blokey/trady" TAB side of the pub. So has your choice of options, and is a nice place to meet up for a quick drink. However, there isn't really any atmosphere or great live music going on so compared to other options in the area its almost always worth missing. The meals are on the expensive side and not that impressive, no salad options and parma is a let down. Not necessarily worth a drive there but okay if you can walk there and back.

I Live a block away from this fabulous pub. Ideal for cheap meals during the week. Ideal place for dinner and drinks with friends before heading into the city for a big night

The Tuesday night parmigiana and Sunday night roast specials are good value here at $12 each and pretty popular judging by the number of people. The meals are fairly simple fare but my roast pork was well cooked. I must say my roast potatoes are better than what I tasted here and where is the roast pumpkin?

Good place to go and get a good meal.. the parma is great.. The atmosphere is also great. This isnt a fine dining restuarant by any means it is a pub and I think it is really quite good for a pub.. but don't go if you are expecting any more than that..

Upon walking in i waited with my 2 guests at the entrance for at least 5 minutes before we were greeted and showed to a table. As there were only 4 other groups seated i was unsure why we were left standing in the door way for so long. Once we were given menus I felt like i had stepped back in time. I am not a meat eater and not since the 90's has this been a problem however at the Elsternwick there were ZERO vegetarian options in the "mains" section of the menu! I asked the waitress if there was a chance the chef could make up a meal for me, she went to check it out and came back to let me know i could order a cesar salad without bacon or i could order the arancini balls.... FOR A MAIN MEAL. I did not order either of these and instead went home hungry. Although the waitress was apoliogetic my empty stomach did not care.

I know it is not a mortal sin to not try and cater to all customers personal food choices and preferences however in this day and age i did expect a little more.

Additionally before we had even been seated i had noticed that the whole building smelt as if the toilets had overflowed. I have a strong feeling that it may have been a blessing in disguise that we chose not to order food!
