1 review about The Esplanade Hotel

We had lunch here last Saturday over the busy Ironman Half weekend. Ambience is casual and pleasant. As with most hotels/pubs, you order and pay at the bar area. I ordered a Seafood Platter that came with deep fried calamari rings, 1 piece of fish, some prawns and some scampi with a mountain of chips. Taste-wise was pretty stock standard but portions were generous. I couldn't finish the chips. It would have been nicer if they offer mayo or tomato sauce and a wedge of lemon with it as it is too rich and dry to eat on it's own. My partner order grilled fish and mashed potatos with some mayo-like dressing. It was ok. Both came with complimentary salad bar. Salad bar had pasta salad, coleslaw, potato salad, green salad, beetroot/capsicum salad, beans, etc. Service-wise was efficient.

Approximate cost: $22
