You can get everything you want for baking here - including an extensive range of gluten free products. I love that you can scoop out the amount you want (large or small) and only pay for what you need. I have purchased a variety nuts, dried fruits, herbs and spices, tea & coffee, and keep going back. The only inconvenience is the parking - being so central in town there are no car parks close by, and often I've bought more than I intended and needed to carry it a long way to the car.
I have always found this place to be great in purchasing supplies for Christmas cakes and puddings as I can easily buy in bulk. We made our own wedding cake a few years back and purchased all our supplies from here. A cake we were quoted $700 for we made for $120
I am gluten and dairy free so a lot of the ingredients I need for baking you can not find at a regular supermarket. The grain grocer stocks just about everything I require, and it is mostly in those containers where you can scoop out the amount you require and then pay per kg. They also have an extensive range of spices and I love just being able to get a small amount and not paying for the jar! The only inconvenient thing is that being in the middle of town there is no free parking around and it can be a fair walk from the car and cost to go there :(
I do a lot of baking & my daughter took me to the grain grocer one day to buy my baking needs in bulk & i have been shopping there ever since. i buy bulk flours, sugar, nuts, dried fruits, spices, herbs, tea & coffee...really a great place to shop for bulk products
