Not a very modern hotel but I do like it as they offer great meals at reasonable prices and the staff are always friendly.

Had lunch here with work colleagues just before christmas and found our servings were very generous. Most of us ordered the seafood platter, great value, certainly filled me up. Others order steak and schnitzel, all our meals were enjoyed by all. Found the service to be excellent.

This is a very big old hotel, service in the dining room is pretty quick, plenty of choices on the menu, and you help yourself to vegies and salad. Rolls are provided on the table. Seafood platter is a specialty for 2 at $32.00 and 4 people can eat well there for $75.00 at night time. Outdoor area and also pokies.

We used to frequent this hotel for a cheap lunch quite abit when we first moved to the area. That was until we discovered a better hotel down the road. The dining room is non plus in atmosphere, the "specials" of the day were so so and the veg and salad bar were of limited choices. Not to be totally negative, they have refurbished their outside under cover area nicely. You can sit around wine barrels or long wooden tables and watch the bands on a large screen

This is an old hotel that has remained unchanged for many years. The model train still goes around the room (on a shelf) but the dining room does not have much pizzaz. Basic hotel menu food which is well priced but not fantastic. If you are looking for a cheaper meal it is ok. I had fish which was ok

My wife and I decided to have lunch here recently while staying in Victor Harbor. It was the $10 meal specials on the advertising boards outside that attracted our attention. But, what was advertised wasnt available the day we were there, regardless, we decided to stay and choose from the regular-price menu. My wife had a chicken parmiagana and I had a Hawaiian chicken schnitzel.
Both our meals were of rather average quality, a little overcooked, and the salad bar was a little sad; basic, bland and past its freshest.
The lady behind the bar and taking our orders was friendly enough, but seemed to be rushed off her feet and trying to cover all areas of the hotel herself.
The model train that runs around the ceiling was a quaint touch, but the seating area was fairly cramped.
This hotel is a stately old country pub, steeped in history (I can remember my Grandma talking about the grandeur and elegance of this place back in the 1950's and earlier), but I'm afraid we didn't feel that vibe.

On the hunt for a decent, reasonably priced meal to feed our family and friends of ours (4 adults and 7 kids between us), we stumbled upon the Grosvenor menu. $10 t-bone special Tuesday and $9.90 other pub fare items sounded good so we gave it a shot. Probably not the best choice as tables were packed really close together so hard to manouevre pram, and the glares we received upon entry from the senior citizen clientele were a little unsettling (the kids all had one of their rare model behaviour moments so hopefully we were vindicated slightly). The staff were cool bordering on rude. I ordered the t-bone medium rare and could barely get my knife through it, so overdone. When I pointed this out they said I had to wait 35 minutes to get another one. So I got my money back and left hungry. I managed to get a gritted teeth apology, which I still did rate, so I gave a cheery 'no worries" and we left on good terms. The others in our party also found the food average and dissatisfying.

Approximate cost: $10
