This is a fantastic play centre!

The management staffs the venue with mature employees who are extremely friendly and helpful!

The price is a little higher than most but when you factor in the adult entry cost on top of the kids, but you do get a free coffee with entry (and it's not bad either).

The food is pretty good and always arrives in reasonable time, even when they are busy

Tables, equipment and floors are always kept clean. They can't be faulted in the regard.

There is a certain "crowd" that seems to go there that think it's ok to sit in their little group and natter away not even looking at what their children are doing, these are clearly the parents of the ADHD kids and use the place to escape their children instead of supervise. This of course is not the fault of the establishment and I certainly won't detract stars for it, but it has been a slight frustration on almost every visit and worth noting.

If tumbles is too busy I will always go here as my backup.

Approximate cost: $Adult entry + kids entry

The Kidz Play Shak has been great, the people that work there are amazing and the center itself seems to improve with every visit. The only drawback is the same as all other places.. The Parents.. most bring there kids believing you just drop them off then ignore them. Don't ruin it for other people by letting your snot nosed little kid pick on other kids. OR if your child is a baby DON'T put it on the jumping castle while the big kids are on it then yell at them for jumping to close to a your baby.

Oh and their coffee is awesome!!

I agree, the lack of parental supervision seems to really stand out here for some reason. But otherwise, a fantastic venue!

I agree with one of the other reviewers. After this business changed hands our experiences here have improved dramatically. I have found that the occasions I have been there ie mothers group, birthday parties, casual outings, the equipment has always been quite good and generally quite clean. The place is well laid out so that the parents can see where the kids are. The only layout issue is that the baby section is hidden in the corner so if you have kids of varying ages it can be difficult to keep an eye on all of them. Would be be nice if some of the baby toys did have their batteries replaced once in a while. The service is pretty good, sometimes a bit slow but always friendly. They do serve some great foccacia's however like all centres it would be good to see some healther childrens menu options.
I can take my kids here knowing it will be not a stressful event like some other playcentres that I have been to where choas reigns supreme and I leave feeling so strung out!

Nice clean environment. Food menu good and reasonably priced. Service is good most of the time, although it can get a bit busy. Good play area where child location is not too difficult.

My daughter and I have been visiting the kidz playshak for a long time now and i have recently become aware that it has changed owners. Since this transition the Playshak has gone from strength to strength, it's alot cleaner and the service and food quality have improved immensely. My daughter loves going there so much that it is a struggle to get her to leave some days. Regardless the variety of things to do and the five different play areas keep her entertained for hours. The friendly staff and relaxing atmosphere keep us coming back week after week.

My kids are aged just over 12 months and normally the toddler sections are rubbish at most play centres. There were basically 3 sections that my kids played in - the wee-kids section, the toddler section and some elements of the older kids section. They had a blast because there was plenty to do and I didn't have to entertain them myself - which is always a good thing.

Meant to only spend 1-2 hours there but spent nearly 4 there last week and they kids were nice and tired!!

Have recommended the centre to a couple of locals here at work.

Went there with my mother's group and we were all quite impressed. Have been to a few play centres, so we are aware of not so good ones.

Friendly staff, prompt service, reasonable range of food.

They say on the wall that they offer a mother's group special... not sure, have to inquire about this one...stay tuned for further info.

Lots to do for our toddlers (all 2 and so many months). Safe environment, so you have your hands free to enjoy a sandwhich or just a coffee, etc. Also have jumping pillow, baby area and older kids areas.

Bright, spacious, comfortable environment complete with lounges.

Quiet, compared to other playcentres (doesn't feel as if you have entered a blue light disco!)

Clean and tidy.

Price is more expensive than others in the area. The ride on cars were broken. The overall cleanliness of the premises was very poor in comparison to others in the area. (Don't look too hard at skirting boards, behind/ under couches etc. Also if there is a spill the staff just clean up with napkins but no cleaning agents (we spilt a coffee).
The staff are very friendly, although they do not monitor the children playing IE big kids riding the bikes down the slide - very dangerous.
Also there is not as much for the kids to do here.

Approximate cost: $9.50

I agree that the staff should check to make sure equipment is being used properly however at the end of the day it is the parent who is responsible for supervising their own children. I am one parent who is sick and tired of watching and approaching other kids who are not playing well with others or doing the right thing with the equipment while the offending childs parent/s are sitting their not paying any attention to what their child is doing. The playcentre is for all children who go there not just the few who bend the rules and make it a not so enjoyable experience for others including those parents that think that they don't need to supervise their children.

my wife is a nanny. her and her 4 nanny friends visit several play centres accross melbourne and this one doesnt really match up to the bigger ones. the price was slightly higher than we would normally pay but overall I think it was worth it!

I took my 5 year old daughter and 2 year old son for a play and absolutely loved the fact that they could play together unlike other centres where I have to go into a fenced in area with my son! There was so much for them to do, but their favourite thing would be the jumping pillow! The price was slightly higher than we would normally pay but overall I think it was worth it! The food was delicious with very generous portions. Will be having my daughter's birthday there later in the year.

Approximate cost: $15.50 for 2 kids
