Lock your wallet

Ordered two drinks. A beer and a southern and coke. $35 and after paying I was told they had no southern comfort. My partner then got a kahlua and milk. No suggestion it cost less. Not impressed. They told me after I queried the prices the Carlton draught was on special for happy hour at $5. Shame there were no signs and they didn't tell me earlier.
Last time I'll come here. Martin

Dinner for 7 - would not recommend

Seven of us went to dinner at the Koonya Hotel on a Friday night. We found that there was one person serving and one behind the counter. Although the restaurant didn’t seem that busy, no one came to clean our table of dirty dishes after we had starters which was disappointing. We ordered burgers and fish and chips. Two of the burgers were cold ( the cheese hadn’t even melted), the chips were terrible and the cos salad was just lettuce leaves. When we complained the burgers were re-done and they were much better. Very highly price and I would not recommend.

I was very plesently surprised when my partner and I had lunch at the Koonya Hotel on a Sunday afternoon recently. We personlly hand selected our lunch from their new fresh fish market where they have local seafood on display available to eat in or take home. I have never had that sort of dining experience especially in a pub! The value was fantastic and we were both surprised as we could see for ourselves how fresh the produce was. The meals themselves were beautiful and I must say, the BEST chips I've had.
The atmosphere itself was fantastic as they had live music throughout the afternoon.
As a local, I would most definitly recommend the Koonya for great value, crusiy atmospere, friendly staff and beautiful food.
