Amazing staff, fantastic service

I would recommend the Northern Hospital to anyone, my grandson was unwell and was treated promptly with care and compassion by every single staff member. Another time my husband went there and was treated exactly the same way. Cannot recommend this hospital highly enough.

It is the worst hospital I’ve ever been to the nurses were so rude.the doctors came back with different stories about what was wrong with me I asked for help multiple times they literally said I’m not your nurse and walked away. I got sent to emergency because my ankle and foot were broken and had badly bruised ribs. They didn’t tell me to raise my leg I had to beg for an ice pack.
I ended up staying there for 2 days many people told me I would’ve been better off going to my local GP.

Nurses were nice, but I have had the same surgery 3 times to remove something, the first time recovery time for me was good, second time I went hospital because I needed to have the surgery again (since the thing had came back) I did the surgery but they told me that I will be having a thirdsurgery for it but HITH stopped coming for treatment and the hospital never got back to me for the third surgery..

6 months later I am back with what I had surgery for but it had came back worse, they did the surgery for me and out a blue plastic drain tube in the wound "for the next surgery" so infection doesn't build up and wound doesn't close…... ANOTHER 6 months later I still have the plastic drain and sent a letter and said their work with me is done appointments are now with my GP that they have been ignoring letters and calls from for my situation.

The most disturbing thing about this hospital is the numerous amount of Wilson security guards sitting around acting as receptions. It's like it's a detention centre than a hospital. Which is a weird coincidence because Wilson security use to run the detention centres and nauru and manus. Some nurses are good and some are really clueless so it it depends on luck whether you are taken care of or left to die.

Northern health emergency is the worse ever. Staff including security are rude. They just don't value our time. I had a COVID positive patient with many pre existing medical condition. They just wouldn't care about you.If asked the reason for taking so long than they would just answer back saying I cant answer this. It could overnight too… If you want to leave than you are more than welcome to go.. “VERY UNPROFESSIONAL”.

I was admitted into the maternity ward to have my baby.the care i received while pregnant was amazing. My baby born premature so baby was in hospital for 15 days. The staff is very helpful, caring and friendly. There are three nurses who are angels- Jacinta Ashen, Crystal and Alex. As I wasn't there all the time with my little, but hospital staff was taking care of my daughter like a princess. I m very happy and 110% impressed with hospital service.

My 6 year old needed surgery and due to our geographic location it had to be the Northern. I was initially worried due to the bad wrap it seems to constantly get. I can happily say, I am 100% happy with the care. All staff were professional and caring and I would no longer be worried about having to use this as my hospital.
Some of their administrative process could improve greatly but other than a nuisance, they do not affect our health.
All hospitals will have bad stories. I feel it is important to share the good as well.

The northern hospital emergency department is pathetic and one of the worst I have seen. I have been there a few times the first time thanks to them ended up going home and returned a few hours later with a ruptured Fallopian tube. I do no go there by choice as the ambulance takes us there as it's closer. They only give attention to those who are either dying or dead. The 2nd time I Go in with an ambulance and 4 hours later no one seen us not even a nurse... I did not look like I was an emergency from the external but internally is s different story.... I had to leave as had no bed and sat on a chair with excruciating pain for 4 hours and was told a few more hours for a doc to see me. If I knew they would do the proper tests other than a blood tes but to wait 8 hours only to be told you might just have a virus....when you know your body and it's more than that.

I had to go for a check up here for a cast that was fitted on my broken wrist. I was seen to very quickly in the emergency department, even though the previous hospital was supposed to set up a referral and hadn't. I was then told to i needed to wait in a separate area, I think it was the orthopedics. The physiotherapist (Josh) was extremely helpful and made sure that I was updated with every detail throughout my duration there. They were all very thorough and made sure that I was cared for. I would highly recommend this hospital for the future.
