I found the young staff awesome. Friendly & helpful. Very efficient. I hadn't been for years, but went a little while ago. Believe it or not I think it's in the same spot as about 20 years ago, just more built up areas with the cinemas. Yummy hot chocolate by the way

We are fans of the pancake parlour, we visited the Chadstone one recently. The staff were friendly and catered for my 18 month old daughter with a high chair and provided her with colouring and crayons. Which she loved. The meals are large size and were speedy, and they even catered for a request that was not on there normal menu. They went above and beyond also when I asked about egg in a meal as my daughter has egg allergy and they were quick to assist.

Approximate cost: $20

I am a huge fan of the Pancake Parlour Chain, often frequenting their city locations at Melbourne Central and Bourke Street with friends. Recently after seeing a movie at the Hoyts Cinema in Chadstone, we decided we'd stop by the Pancake Parlour at the shopping centre for dinner. Our experience at dinner fell short of our high expectations.

We were seated by a young employee who we presumed to be new, who practically pestered us to take our order after we told her multiple times we were not ready to make an order.
We ordered the $15 student deals (a great value deal) which come with a choice of fizzy drink or iced tea. I ordered the cheese and potato pancake with a side salad; My friend ordered the breakfast style pancakes with eggs runny/over easy, and made a special request to change her drink to either an apple juice (cheaper than the iced tea) or homemade lemonade (same price as the iced tea) as she cannot have fizzy drinks for health reasons and prefers not to drink tea. We were guaranteed by our waitress that the request for juice would be met.

Quite a while later, my drink was delivered, but no sign of my friend's. We were informed that they would not honour her request for juice, but offered another drink. She again mentioned her health troubles and asked if a homemade lemonade would be available, to which again we were guaranteed it would be. However, moments later our waitress returned with a Sprite or Schweppes style fizzy lemonade.

After once again speaking to the waitress, this drink was removed from the table with promise of another drink.

5-10 minutes passed with no sign of a replacement drink, and our meals arrived.

My salad contained pieces of lettuce that were brown and slimy, not just a little around the edges, but I mean almost completely brown and inedible. My entire plate had been drowned in salad dressing; The "side" salad took up more space on the plate than the pancake did. My friend's eggs were not cooked over easy, but rather quite the opposite, and her pancakes seemed tiny compared to pancakes served from other restaurants.

At this point we felt we had no choice but to speak to the manager.

Thankfully he was able to correct his employees mistakes - due to the poor condition of my side salad, and the incorrect drink, and pancake size, as well as overcooked eggs, he immediately halved the cost of our meals to $7.50 each. He was able to provide my friend with the correct drink, and had new eggs cooked for her meal, however never offered to replace my side salad (presumably because of the price he had already deducted from the bill). Upon leaving, our waitress seemed abrupt, certainly not friendly towards us.

While I appreciate the manager's efforts to rectify the problems, I would probably make the effort to travel to the city next time, rather than returning to this restaurant. I left feeling disappointed and unwelcome.

I wanted to go to the Pancake Parlour for my birthday - I've always loved the cheese and potato pancake and the 'Alice in Wonderland'. The service was ok - for a Sunday night! We had to wait for a while to be served. One of the waiters was not very friendly. The other waitress was lovely. The cheese and potato pancake was divine - as yummy as I remembered. The Alice in Wonderland was not so good. A bit small, too much chocolate sauce, not enough ice cream. I had to ask for another set of cutlery, was sharing it with my DD. Would have like another plate, but didn't want to have to wait for a staff member to come back to the table.

Approximate cost: $20.00

It's a nice location, right near the movies, the service is always really quick and friendly. Priced the same as every other pancake parlour as far as I could tell. Can get a bit noisy but there are nice booths that you can hide away in. The I.T is the bomb, I think that's what it's called. Walnuts and banana fried to deliciousness.

The fast service meals are good value and useful if you are going to a film afterwards. I usually get the barramundi pancake which is quite good. Use the shopper dockets to get two pancake stacks for the price of one. You can print one out from the internet.

Although it is a nice traditional diner environment, the staff don't seem very welcoming of people who use it as a social venue, even though that is clealy how it is designed. Both times I have been there, I have been rushed to order and repeatedly asked. The food was not the cheapest and not the quality I would expect.

The pancake parlour is not outstanding but a reasonable place to have a fun cup of coffee of a snack to eat after visiting the cinemas. They prices are a little pricey but the small things (drinks) are good value. The pancakes were good and the drinks superb.

It was hugely disappointing. For an establishment who specialise in pancakes I was surprised at the appearance and taste. Ours were overdone, not far off having a burnt flavor – very dark in colour with spots of pan residue. The presentation is average; I mean they could at least garnish them with a strawberry or something? Not just a dollop of butter. The flavour of the coffee (i.e. flat white) is very average. The only time I saw the staff were when they delivered our meals. Upon paying I was hoping to be asked how our meals were but of course this did not happen so I wasn't able to express my dissatisfaction. There was no thank you after payment. Overall, not what I expected and I doubt I will ever return. I sent feedback via their website but I am yet to receive a response.

Very expensive! Pancakes are awesome and great quality, and ingredients are organic and fresh! Also large range of other meals, drinks and breakfasts.
