just had the best ever breakfast pie chorizo, egg, bacon & hashbrown on top, got to try it in Yea! And the heaped full meat pastie was great too, full of quality filling, I had to eat it for lunch as the pie was enough in itself.

Approximate cost: $14 for 2 items with a drink

On a weekend whilst out for a country drive we came across this bakery and called in to buy some fresh bread to take home. The bread rolls were soft and fluffy, at about 70 cents is about what you expect to pay.

The bakery advertises that it has won awards for its pies. Hmmm sounds appealing to me to try, but we had just had finished a lovely lunch at the nearby pub in the same street, so a pie lunch will be in order next time we visit this town.

Service was good, did not have to wait long to be served. Staff were friendly and greeted me with a smile, which is always appreciated!

You can sit down inside at a table and enjoy your hot pies, pastries, sandwiches and delicious assortments of cakes.

You can also purchase cold drinks from the fridge, as well as hot beverages eg coffee etc.

Bustling little bakery/cafe, so thats a good sign that it must be popular!

This is a really nice area. I haven't been there in a while and I think I remember a nice bakery/cafe ... you make me want to go there and try it. Great description in your review.

On two visits over a long weekend, I sampled the sausage rolls, coffee and the nenish tarts.

The sausage rolls were great and tasted like they had been made by a baker - not by some robot in a giant factory.

Coffee was average - again, made by a baker in a country town, not a barista that does a million an hour.

Nenish tarts were sensational. It reminded me of those that my grandmother might have bought years ago. Fresh cream and pastry, and not those giant ones that go straight to the hips (I know, I know...).

Provender's was full whilst the take-away shop next door was completely empty - that summed it up for me.

I didnt get a chance to try the pies but they proudly show off their awards in the window so I figure they stack up also.

Worth re-routing your journey to this town just for the Nenish tarts.

Approximate cost: $4

We stop at this bakery on our fairly regular trips up North. All we have ordered from there is chocolate and caramel thickshakes, as we're generally there between meal times, and they're FANTASTIC! One of the best milk/thickshakes i've ever had to be honest. They have a good selection of pastries and desserts as well, in a very nicely laid out store. It has a very old-school diner feel in my opinion, which is always nice. Lots of people in there the few times we've been in. The staff take their time to make things properly for you, and are friendly. From memory there are also toilet facilities up the back right of the store.
