Great jugs at $ 10 per jug. Bands or music nearly every night with excellent DJ. Staff are good at security but friendly and very professional.

I've been visiting the RE since 1990 (am I really that old?) and things have definitely changed over the years. It's gone from a seedy student bar with a dingy public bar, to a seedy student bar, with a dingy public bar, and some pool tables, a TAB, a pokies room and a nicer upstairs area.

The RE know how to target their audience, and they do it well. They still provide beer, meals and entertainment, and when you're so close to a university, that's exactly what you need to do.

The place can get crowded on the traditional busy nights, making for a long wait to get a drink, a meal, or use the toilets, but that is just a sign of their popularity. If people weren't willing to put up with it, they wouldn't.

Love Wednesday nights here, good crowd and cheap drinks! Bit dirty but a nice atmosphere for a mid week bender. The outside area is always quite nice to sit around and chat to friends or dance creating a more casual feel whereas upstairs is a tad cramped but when it isnt so busy can be a nice place to play pool. The toilets however are lacking, very small and in desperate need for an upgrade.

I can't say anything about the RE when it is a busy night (I visited on a Monday night), but I can say that the quality of the nachos they make is very good and the price isn't too bad.

Its a bit of a seedy pub, but always busy and its convenient. The ribs are pretty good and reasonably priced.

Good place to get together with friends for a night out. $3 basic drinks on Wednesday nights - gets really busy and packed but service is still good.
