I have been wanting to try this place for some time and finally had the chance yesterday. We walked in on street level and was informed that the Bistro was downstairs. We were promptly seated but the downside was that the tables for 2 were so close to each other we could hear everything the couple next to us was saying, and vice versa. As the night went on, the noise level also went up and it made conversations a little bit difficult. It seems to be the trend nowadays - noisy restaurants!

Food-wise, I started with the Bone Marrow and Morcilla (blood sausage)($16) and it came with a bone marrow but not much marrow in it. The thick slice of blood sausage was nice and was cutely topped with a sunny side up of quails egg. It also came with 2 slices of bread, some mayo-like thingy, and capsicum salad. Enjoyable but I am pretty sure my marrow fell out of the bone in the oven!!! I also order 2 deep fried oysters ($4.20 each) and they were delicious and not greasy and good sized. One came with wasabi mayo and another with chorizo mayo. Delicious! My partner had beetroot carpacio ($24) as he was going for a huge hunk of beef for mains.

His beef main (can't recall the name but it was huge with one big bone) came with mac and cheese ($49). Well cooked and generous. I had the duck ragout parpadelle with mushrooms and it was really good ($29). I could finish it as it felt really rich.

We ended with a dessert of sampling platter (1 piece of macaron, 1 dark choc tart and another mars bar cake). $14.

All in all, it was enjoyable enough but the proximity of the tables for 2 means I won't be rushing back unless dining with another couple.

A bit pricey for what it is!
Come on Perth wake up! The food is good though I know it is Perth but really is that an excuse for ludicrous prices?! Not everyone is a miner! Otherwise everything else was good, just think you could get a bit more for your money!

I don't know what the designers were thinking when they put a massive wine display right in the centre of the venue. It makes getting to the bar near impossible on a busy night. If you can get there service is quick, they have an good range of high quality drinks and the venue itself is absolutely fantastic to look at!
