The Tuxedo cat has moved venues. It is now located at 54 Hyde Street Adelaide - just off Pirie street.

The Tux Cat still supports great independent theatre. and still has a great vibe. However, in the room we were in, there was no air-conditioning or fans, and it became swelteringly hot. I felt like I couldn't pay attention to the comedy show we had paid $20-odd to see.

I still LOVE the Tuxedo Cat, but I do wish there were some fans in the spaces, as it is hard to recommend shows to friends knowing how hot and awful the space can be.

The Tuxedo Cat is a super special venue.

Supporting truly independent, exciting local and international theatre and musical acts during the Fringe and then for a little afterwards.

The current space is huge and built on a minimal budget, in an old warehouse off north terrace with re-purposed pallets and wooden structures creating a bar and cafe space out front, and theatres on two floors.

I like the Tux Cat especially because you know the shows you go to see are going to be really different. During the Fringe, I get weary of the repetition and over-polished affectation of so much fringe fodder.

The crowd at the Tuxedo Cat is really lovely too.

Go eat lunch there - curries are their specialty - or watch a cheap, awesome show and have a drink afterwards.

Great review! I was just checking out the guide today, so will have another look for shows at this venue.
