I would not recommend this business even to my worst enemy. They are a front for scamming the customer. I took my car in to get the timing chains replaced. After they did this and I paid $2000 for the work they said that because the engine had so much build up of oil residue the new timing chains may not work properly. The car was no better than before they did the work. So I took it to another mechanic and they showed me that no work had been done on the car and the timing chains had not been replaced. Furious at this finding we went back to The Wirkshop and had the staff all lined up and they denied the scam. But it was very awkward and we could tell they were lying. To make matters worse the car was now too dangerous to drive because the brakes were failing due to low vacuum pressure from the engine due to faulty timing chains. I had to use the hand brake to stop the car. So The Workshop mechanic had a look at it and took it for a test drive as he didn’t believe me but when he nearly crashed the car because the brakes weren’t working he had a serious word to [redacted] who told us we needed a new engine. They quoted $23k for replacing the engine and we almost lost it there and then. We told them we were going to report them to the RACV since they had just recently acquired RACV approved repairer status. We got an RACV investigator to visit them and explore their premises and ask lots of questions. The RACV guy said that he couldn’t prove they had done anything wrong and suggested we get The Workshop to replace our engine for trade price instead of full retail price. The Workshop called us back and offered to replace the engine with a brand new engine for a heavily discounted price. After much negotiations we got them to do this work for $4,000. I had this checked and they had indeed replaced the whole engine with a brand new one. So in the end we got a new engine in our car for $6000. Lesson learnt’t here Is to read reviews about a place before getting them to provide you a service. I will never trust The Workshop again and suggest no one ever goes there either. Also, I recently heard they are now permanently closed due to going into Liquidation so this may be Karma for all those ripped off customers.

Absolute scam. Performed unnecessary work to fix problem with my car. When I took it back because they had not fixed the problem, they claimed to have done extra work on it and still did not fix the problem. A subsequent mechanic found they had not done the work they claimed. Service ends up $1000 plus due to addons. Avoid at all costs.

I booked my car in for a re-gas using a Scoupon Voucher. After the re-gas the front desk man said my ac valves both needed replacing ($25 each). My b/f asked to look at my car to see the leaks and we both walked into the workshop out the back of the store where my car was quickly driven off. In the confusion the attendant said the leaks must have already been fixed and we were not charged anything extra. We are happy with the re-gas.

Avoid this place like the plague. I like many others on this forum, had a crappy experience. Which included paying for a voucher, which I thought was good value but practically covered next to nothing as you still had to pay for all parts, oil and labour. Plus they told me things on my car needed doing, that didn't even need to be done. Basically a ploy for me to come back again and spend more money! No thank you!

Sorry I have no interest in attending your business again. My dad and I were both ripped off here, there's no way I will ever return!

I find it funny how you have to bribe your customers to leave good reviews by sending them gifts! What a joke.

The Workshop 23 Sep 2015

Annc631, believe it or not we have lots of very happy and satisfied customers. The reason for this is they read and understand the terms and conditions to the vouchers.

If a customer has a problem they take it up with us, and we always do our best to rectify it and keep them happy. Our biggest priority is to keep loyal and first time customers happy so that they want to return.

For your information a "gift of appreciation" is a voucher for a labour free service. I checked and it is not a breach of WOMO's T&C.

As for your bad experience, I would really like to make it right with you if you would give us a chance. If you would like to talk about this you can contact me directly on 0477 001 551.

Warmest regards,
Cameron

I explained 3 times on 3 different days including the day my vehicle was being worked on 2 things I wanted done during that service, plugs and fuel filter... They recommend this last time the car was serviced there..

Due to someone 'out the back' deciding better the fuel filter was not done.. It obviously doesn't matter what the paying customer wants..

Upon reading the 'recommended work to be done' on the reciept, it's recommend the fuel filter gets changed..! Errrmm...?

Taking your Toyota here is a silly thing to do, a Toyota Dealership in now only 200m down the road.

1 review with 10% trust....Seems dodgy to me

I'm not sure why you are bribing your customers with gifts to leave good reviews? Surely that has to be against Womo's terms and conditions!

I had purchased a voucher to get my car serviced here and was a bit disappointed to find out the voucher covered practically nothing. I ended up paying over $200 for a service here which is what I would usually pay without a voucher. The whole thing was a bit of a waste of time. They also continued to harass me with phone calls about needing to get something fixed on my car which costed $600 plus.
My dad took his car to get serviced here and had a similar disappointing experience. I would stay away!

No worries! I'm always happy to give credit where credit is due but this place is a joke! Such rip-off merchants!

annc631 02 Aug 2015

It's important people know about this place. I don't know how they're still open. Biggest rip-off to date!

The modern atmosphere was very attractive to me and the staffs were very friendly aswell. I had one of those Scoupons voucher, and the gentlemen at the front desk explained everything slowly and clearly to me. In the end, I knew I had to pay for any extra parts, fluids and oils, because the voucher only covered the labour, car wash and vacuum and wheel alignment, which i believed was pretty good for only $39 (i got the $39 dollar one). Oh and a complimentary coffee, which was very nice by the way. Overall when the service was done i was very pleased and personally i believed my car is running alot better than before, one thing they could work on though is the time, but who can rush and do a good job at the same time hey?

Not sure why you are sending gifts of appreciation to people who have left good reviews? Surely that has to breach WOMO's terms and conditions!
