This is a conveniently located restaurant if you need to meet people somewhere central. Good food at a reasonable price that comes out quickly. No real atmosphere to speak of but you're not really going to find that in fed square. The curry with roti is good, as are the pizzas.

This place is similar to a lot of the places in Fed Square. Through experience I have found them to be rather overpriced with average to OK food. My kids loved their chips and serves were very large. My club sandwich was huge, almost too big for me to eat, taste OK. My husband and son had a very nice side salad which was quite fresh with the dishes and daughter enjoyed her calamari. Overall, a decent cafe experience, service ranged from friendly females to an indifferent male. A reasonable place for breakfast and lunch in Fed Square.

One word, YUCK!!! It was so disappointing, waste of my money and ruined my night. We nearly bashed the friend who recommended this place. She always seem to recommend dodgy places. This place is way overpriced, the staffs were extremely rude and worst of all, the foods were disgusting. Every single dishes we ordered tasted the same- BLAND. We had to put tons of salt, pepper and tabasco sauce. But those did not help at all because the meats were tough and dry. My pasta came in a pool of oil and there were only 2 pieces of chicken and 5 slices of mushrom. WHen we asked for bill, we gave the staff entertainment voucher that entitles us 25% OFF but was told by the staff they don't accept the voucher on busy night. Whish is BS because it doesn't say so on the voucher but we just wanted to get out quick and couldn't be bothered to argue.

The food was good and so was the service. I love to sit outside in the sun. It is really a good place to sit and watch people.

Time Out... Good Cafe that can cater for Food Allergies. The Food is reasonable quality for the Pricing, if not a tad overpriced, but being smack bang in the city somewhat explains this fact. The food is up to par as is the coffees however the only thing that lets the place down is an inconsistency in the staff. We have never once been there to have our orders being taken without issue. Sizes wrong, things ordered not arriving or just taking forever to be served as every other staff member thinks the other is serving us. No major allergen stuff ups with prudent attention to what is ordered.

Overall not bad and the food and location somewhat makes up for the service. The venue itself is quite cosy on the inside on a typical winters day, and the outside is also great in warmer weather for taking in the city around you!

Fantastic central location great for people watching. The service was average. Food was reasonable. Price is pretty reasonable for Melbourne CBD. Had higher expectations on quality of service. Will go back again though.

We went to Time Out because we were seeking a casual dining atmosphere and quick food. I wouldn't let the food be the only motivator for me to come here. The kangaroo we ordered was a little tough (it was cooked medium rare) and the Mexican chicken burger was a little dry. The chips that came with it however was crispy and well-salted. In general, the food was satisfactory. Don't expect a lot of hospitality from the staff though.

Due to Melbourne weather, we could not sit outside, but al fresco seating abounds. On a nice day, it would be lovely to sit under the umbrellas and watch people go by. Because Time Out is right on Fed Square, there is plenty to see.

If it's raining, try to request one of the booths inside. It gives you a more private experience and adds to the relaxing feel.

Approximate cost: $30.00

Average food- certainly not a standout for me. For a city location, a place like this needs to be top quality to compete with the numerous amounts of cafes?restaurants that serve delicious innovative food.
