Fabulous sponge birthday cake
I ordered a sponge cake the afternoon prior to pick up day.
I enquired what cake could be made & when it could be ready.
It was settled on after 10 am the next day.
I arrived at 10:15 to collect the birthday cake for morning tea, only to learn that it hadn’t been made yet. There was no apology offered.I didn’t cancel my order because I had paid at the time of the order.
I decided that I needed to still provide an alternative suitable birthday morning tea, which actually cost more than the birthday cake, I purchased tarts elsewhere.
I still collected the birthday sponge cake and it was actually faultless and sensational, complete with jam, cream & chocolate frosting. Such a shame that my order wasn’t dealt with properly, but can recommend the cake.

We were staying up in north Vic not long ago and wanted to get a pie for lunch. Come to think of it, looking back on the reviews i've done on this site, i eat too many pies. Nonetheless, we ventured up to the border town of Tocumwal which holds a special place for me as my Dad did a lot of gliding in the area. We were presented with two bakeries right next to each other. One big double story old-style looking bakery and one modest single story shop next to it. I decided to go for the more modest one thinking maybe they were hiding something special. It turned out to be a good call. Their pies were great. I sat in the car down near the river and just savoured my pie and sausage roll for as long as i could. The desserts were also very nice. And the value? They were cheap for sure. If you're in the area, drop in and see for yourself.
