First contacted this company on 1 November 2018 to arrange a repair on behalf of a client with serious disability. Emailed them to say they had authority to visit and fix the problems with a very common machine. Asked them to do the job on 19 November to suit the client, so they had plenty of notice. They came that day but didn't do the repair. Instead, on 29 Nov they emailed me with a quote for $1005, detailing the parts needed. The poor client was roasting by then. I gave another written go ahead for the work, to be carried out on 12 December, but they never turned up, leaving the poor client distraught and in a panic. TKS was, at all times, aware of the disability and its effects. When I called to ask why they didn't arrive, Matthew gave me a line of BS saying that the date was never set in stone and was contingent on parts arriving. I referred to his earlier email, which didn't mention that, just said he would have the work done on the nominated day, and he was pretty rude about it too. I then suggested that, if he still wanted the work, he should do it on the next Saturday. He balked at that, but finally agreed. I called the client that day, and nobody had arrived. I tried again half an hour later and Matthew was there at last. Then Matthew called me to say that a whole lot of other parts would be need, and he would have to adjust his quote above the cost of a replacement system. When I said that we would go elsewhere, he decided that it was working after all and he left, invoicing me later by email. This was a dreadful experience for the client with a disability, and looked very like an attempt to take advantage of him. I would never deal with this company again.
