once your bid was 50 percent plus $10 you wuold win most bids,Now it seems to be no longer an auction .But an expensive scam to make you pay more!
What a pity for pensioners who liked to travel
Travel Auctions (www.travelauctions.com.au) is in reality a "discount sales" group. If you bid less that 60% of the "so-called" value of the travel property you will recieve a sales call from their call centre "suggesting" that you raise your bid to at least 60% of the "so-called" value of the property. Web site investigation of the property prices show that the "so-called" value price is in fact the MAXIMUM PEAK price which no-one pays. A call to the property will always receive a better price. This group is really a scam to "sell" discounted holidays packages that tries to pretend that they are an auction site.
Do yourself a favour and avoid at all costs.

Travelauctions.com.au is a terrific website that allows you to search for accommodation options in all states of Australia. It then provides you with details about each specific hotel/motel/holiday park's address, facilities, room description, and regular prices. If you are interested you can make a bid for what amount you would be prepared to pay for that same accomodation. At the end of the auction the top 50 bidders are advised that they have won and can proceed to make payment for their holiday. Most deals give between 6-12 months for you to make your booking and travel in.
It is a fantastic concept and I have used this site on three occasions to get great reduced prices on accommodation. Highly recommend checking this site out before you plan your next travel.

The Travel Auctions concept is an amazing innovation witch enables a couple to holiday at selected venues all over Australia at your own price. Various destinations are offered for sale at a recommended retail price, and the public is invited to bid their own price and to be among the top 50 bidders to be eligible to win that holiday. These venues are posted on T.V, radio or on the web site. After the closing date we are notified by 'phone by very courteous and friendly office personnel who will advise you of your success, (or I suppose otherwise) We have bid for seven of these holidays and been successful with the whole seven. Terrific idea for saving on your holidaying accommodation expenses.
