I don't rate the school. I was not happy with it. I felt like the teachers didn't care, they were fake, the communication was terrible and the community there just didn't exist. Do not send your child there if they have extra needs, disabilities or a condition that requires constant care, you will be greatly let down and your child put into a dangerous situation. A school is only as good as its principal and they do not have a good principal anymore. Happy we left when we did.

Since the principal changed in late 2014 the school went completely downhill. Half the teaching staff left, the remaining are either disgruntled and thinking of leaving or just waiting a few years before retirement. Parents who have been with the school for more than a decade seriously considering moving their kids to other schools. Some have hired tutors since the teaching level dropped significantly. Real shame as the school used to be excellent.

Fantastic public primary school, great principal, very good teaching staff and plenty of support staff. Grounds are well maintained, facilities are very good. The principal knows children by name. The children who need extra help and those who are ahead are given appropriate help or challenges respectively. The school has chess club and several sport teams. The school also features vegetable patch and weekly cooking lessons 1 term a year per class. Camps (grade 4, 5 and 6) are well organised. Teachers are offered regular training and teaching scope is coordinated between teachers of the same year level. The school also has proper classrooms (no open classrooms) with heating and cooling, and children always address the teachers by title and surname, i.e. Miss Jones. The school staff is always listening to parents' concerns and does its best to accommodate parents' preferences.

Great description of your experience - I'm a big fan of public education. Unfortunately it can greatly vary from one school to the next, even within the same neighbourhood.

Please note that the school principal changed from Term 4 2014. Watch this space.
