Roy is everything you look for in a driving instructor; extremely skilled, adapts lessons to your strengths and weaknesses, and extremely friendly. During my first lesson with Roy, I'd done probably around 100 hours, I was still not able to figure out reversing in the right direction and just had a massive mind block, but after a few lessons with him I managed to overcome that mind block, become confident in my reverse parking and pass my P's test first try, a true testament to his teaching.

My partner and I decided to learn to drive after moving into the area from the CBD. Roy is great for several reasons.
Firstly, he loves driving and though I started off thinking I was going to hate it and it was just going to be something I do as a necessity. But after learning from Roy I actually started to love it too!
Secondly, he doesn't beat around the bush. He targets and tells you the things you need to work on, so your anxieties and weaknesses are front of mind as you try to improve (this is very helpful).
Thirdly, and probably most importantly, he definitely doesn't take advantage of you. You could conceive that it financially makes sense that for a driving instructor to try and maximise your lessons as that will maximise their profits. Not with Roy! Each lesson is targetted to make you a better driver, and no point did I feel I was being taken advantage of. As you get more confident, it became common that I even got to choose from a set of options so we could work on what I was interested in improving on that day.
Finally, he is just an interesting guy, some of the best conversations I've had are in that car. I'm gonna start going to my partner's lessons just so I can keep chatting.

I could not be happier with my experience I have no qualms or issues recommending Roy to anyone.

Roy is an amazingly skilled driving instructor. He was very patient with me in overcoming my fears of driving and built my confidence. With Roy's excellent teaching, I was able to pass my P test the first time with a 98%!
