Disappointed overall. Two consultations.
The Dentist hardly spoke to me at all.
It was akin to going to the Headmasters Office in Primary School. Took too many X-Rays (in my opinion), including one off site, for what reason I will never know.
Then I had moulds/photographs taken of my Teeth, this again was never explained to me. After the second consultation I was handed pamphlets to read and sent on my way. No actual Teeth cleaning etc. I originally attended for a minor Tooth pain, which I will be going back to my previous Dentist for in Melbourne notwithstanding the travelling distance. I am at a loss and somewhat perplexed to understand what all the X-rays and moulds of my other Teeth had to do in treating some minor Gum disease and a cracked tooth? This was my subjective experience and opinion which I am entitled to. It appears I paid for X-rays, Moulds & some pamphlets, but NOTHING was actually done. Maybe the Dentist should be more communicative with his patients in future and dispense with all the superfluous X-rays and Teeth Moulds or at least give an explanation as to the necessity of such.

Do not take small children here. The dentist made no effort whatsoever to interact or even speak directly to my 5 year old son and he left with a negative experience of 'scary' dentists.

I recently attended Upwey Dental for a check-up as it had been quite a while since I had visited a dentist with bad memories of past visits putting me off for many years. Upwey had been recommended to me by a friend.

I found them to be very professional from beginning to end. The staff were absolutely lovely and willing to answer any queries or concerns I had going above and beyond to reassure me. As I work long hours I found it very convenient that they offer Tuesday evening appointments.

The practice was very clean and had a modern feel. A staff member pointed out it had only been renovated a few years ago. A lot of the equipment also seemed very advanced with a lot of the instruments that Dr Oblak used I had never seen before. He used a camera to show me what he had found during the check-up which made it easier for me to understand being able to visually see the problems. I was surprised when Dr Oblak went through all of the issues on the board and gave me options depending on my financial situation. I walked away with a treatment plan that was clear and concise and could see how much each visit would be.

Overall I would definitely recommend Upwey Dental to my friends and family.

I recently took my 3 year old son to Upwey Dental for his first checkup.
They were running 15 minutes late. The dentist came out into the waiting room with a mask on his face, looking very scary.
We spent 5 minutes in the dental room, with the dentist spending less than a minute looking inside my son's mouth and then said 'everything looks fine'.
Paid $30 for a 'comprehensive oral examination'- there was nothing comprehensive about it. When I questioned 'is that all?' I was told 'paediatric dentists take a more thorough initial case history, but I don't have time for that today'. We were then ushered to the waiting room to pay, and noted 3 other adults waiting for their appointments.
I feel we were short changed so the adults could be attended to. When I complained, I was told 'his teeth brushing is fine', and the other aspects of my dissatisfaction were not addressed.
I cannot recommend Upwey Dental based on our visit.
