Dr Boon Kua carefully monitored my prostate health for three years until he recommended a biopsy followed by Nano Knife Surgery. Dr Boon Kua performed a robotic simple prostatectomy for me. He is an excellent communicator with a terrific bedside manner. Prior to the procedure he fully explained what was involved and why he was taking the course of action which he had selected. At one point he spent over half an hour with me on the phone reassuring me with respect to the procedure. Immediately following the surgery he made a point of calling my wife & a couple of days later calling me with the biopsy results. Five weeks after the procedure when a small blood clot developed he immediately bumped me to the top of his list to correct this problem. I am so pleased with my recovery; I am now cycling again, playing golf and doing pilates. Dr Kua's diploma which is displayed in his rooms has bestowed the title 'Master Surgeon' on him and he certainly is that. Thank you so very much Dr. Boon Kua.

I am a 54 y/o with BPH. Reasonably fit and OK weight wise. Had been waking up constantly at night to pee for last decade or more. Several times a night. Finally couldnt take it anymore, so I got some surgical help and had a TURP on 7/7/25 performed by Boon Kua.

OUTCOME: 2 months later, the outcome is a 14 out of 10. I dont wake at all during the night now, 'everything else' also works just fine!

PROS: Boon Kua is a true expert in his field. Very, very knowledgeable and, in my experience, correct in all predictions regarding the process and outcome. The Wesley nursing staff (where you have the OP and then recover) are also excellent. And the operation totally works.

THINGS TO KNOW: In my experience, TURP is a nasty little procedure and you need to plan for 4 weeks away from the office and lying horizontal. It isnt so much pain (I did not have a lot of pain at all, actually), its bleeding. Lay flat = bleed less. You can also have 'retention' soon after the OP (which I had, unfortunately) and this involves a rushed trip to Wesley Emergency.

OVERALL: Would I have a TURP again? Yup. Would I want Boon Kua to do it? Yes, absolutely. Short term unpleasantness for amazing relief.

I like the service from the the staff and their knowledge of my journey and attention to detail. Dr Kua was factual and eager to answer all my questions. I liked how he checked in on me after the operation. Also liked the big robot that looked like an upside down spider.

I knew my Prostate was large (BPH) about 4 years ago and was living with the symptoms till the regular UTI’s started. My doctor discussed the options and I decided to get a TURP.

It is hard to put my thoughts into words. I have had a serious cancer removed and within a fortnight was feeling almost back to normal. In early August 2024 I underwent a robotic enucleation (simple) prostatectomy performed by Dr Kua. This was necessary because of gross enlargement of my prostate, detected by scans following a jump in my PSA level. Dr Kua explained clearly the results of the scans, that the enlargement was the biggest he had seen, and the urgent need for surgery, despite my lack of significant symptoms other than occasional spotting. The surgery was arranged at relatively short notice and completed successfully. Fortunately, tissues were benign.
My recovery proceeded very well, and Dr Kua and I are happy with an excellent outcome, with my PSA dropping to almost negligible level post-surgery and no issues at all with leakage. Dr Kua was very affable and clear with his information and care before and after surgery, and I readily recommend his services. I was also pleased that as I went past the robot on entering the theatre I did not hear a robotic voice exclaiming “Exterminate, Exterminate….”
