I had no idea who Dr. Kua was. It was September, a Wednesday, I had received a call by accident from people, friends I scarcely knew. On the Thursday AM. I was to have an ultrasound on my
Prostate, at Cleveland... Back to my phone call--'Oh, Bruce we called by mistake, Jack & I are just on our way to see Dr.Kua, J had his prostate removed a year ago, honestly he is just the most professional, thorough surgeon for this procedure.' [Me now] 'Oh, you won't believe this, I just may need a surgeon to operate on me before long!' [ALL TRUE] To shorten a long story, I had robotic surgery with Dr Kua to remove a cancerous prostate in the November and, concur with my friend's testimony of Boon's engaging temperament, and professional skills. A most satisfactory result. I can confidently recommend Dr. Kua, should you require any similar procedure.

Dr Boon KUA is and excellent Surgeon. He removed a Cancer from my Kidney over 12 months using the Da Vincie Robot. He is one of the few Surgeons trained to use the Device. He is easy to talk to and takes time to explain a diagnosis and treatment. Highly recommended. The Office Staff are also very efficient and friendly.

Dr Boon Kua and his staff do an excellent job. My prostate cancer diagnosis was swift and treatment options were explained in an easy to follow manner.
Once prostate removal was the agreed upon treatment, it was timely and effective using the latest robotic surgery techniques.
Payment options as well as hospital admission procedures were explained clearly.
Post treatment follow up was again timely and mindful of my concerns/questions regarding side effects and degree of treatment success.

If you need a urologist in Brisbane, then he is your man.

I am 63 years old. My regular blood test for PSA levels was always historically low.
It suddenly tripled, less than a year after my last test. Which caused my GP to refer me to a Urologist, as the spike in PSA indicated further investigation needed, as could be caused by cancer.
I saw Dr Kua who told me my prostate was enlarged, after examining me. He sent me for an MRI test, which confirmed my prostate was enlarged, though cancer was not discernible by the MRI people, or by Dr Kua, when he examined the scan.

Dr Kua recommended waiting 3 months to see if the PSA level would come down. If not a biopsy would be needed.

After 3 months I had the blood test again and the PSA reading had returned to its normal level, same as it has been for years. So no further action required.

I’d recommend Dr Kua to anybody. Very happy that I was referred to him.

My experience with Robotic Urinary Surgeon Dr Boon Kua and his staff has been excellent.

Following a rise in my PSA level and the result of a DRE examination, I was referred to Dr Kua by my GP during 2023. I researched his background before seeing him and found that he was highly experienced and very well regarded as a urologist and in the field of robotic-assisted prostate cancer surgery. That view has been strongly reinforced by my experience with him.

The whole process with Dr Kua and his staff was smooth and reassuring through consultations before and following an MRI, biopsy, PET/CT scans, the robotically assisted radical prostatectomy, and the follow-up. I had my operation in August 2023 and was very pleased with my rapid recovery, which I attribute to the skills of Dr Kua and the medical team. I saw Dr Kua in February 2024 and got the all-clear on my PSA result and my progress in general. All being well, I will not have to see Dr Kua again, although I will have PSA tests every six months as is the routine.

Overall, I could not be more pleased with the outcomes, and I highly recommend Dr Kua to others based on my experience.

My GP was diligent in checking my PSA for prostrate cancer and UroBriz provided access to MRI and PET scans. This indicated level 4 cancer confined to just the prostrate. I urgently had a radical prostatectomy. This, I believe was a life saver as prostrate cancer has no outwards symptoms until it has spread, by which time it is too late. It is now one year since my surgery and I am declared cancer free. Annual PSA tests will keep track of me. I urge men to have prostrate checks and act urgently if needed.

I made an appointment to visit Dr Kua seeking a 2nd opinion and instantly felt comfortable in his presence and felt he was exactly the experienced and skilled surgeon that was right for me, the way he carefully and sensitively communicated my particular issues with my prostate, and the options that I had available to me made me immediately comfortable, and I proceeded to undertake a Radical nerve sparing prostatectomy using the Da Vinci robotics process.
His care post surgery was excellent and I have had two follow up blood tests showing an undetectable PSA count.
