The food here is outstanding. The best Vietnamese I've had. Definitely the only place I'd go back to in Victoria St.

have been going here for years. we always seem to order the same favourites, and have never been dissapointed. we always share and we always go crazy on the entrees. the menu is massive and the prices are good.

I eat at Van Mai almost every Monday evening, with 2 friends. We love the food and Minh often just sorts something for us, rather than bother with the menu. He's never yet served us something that we didn't enjoy. This is my favourite restaurant: full stop!

The best Vietnamese in Melbourne. The spicy salted squid (muc rang mui) is to die for!! The nicest fried rice around... always fresh and fast... you never leave with that bloated feeling like some asian restaurants..

One of the better Vietnamese restaurants on Victoria st. Food is great and is very quick to come out and is reasonably priced. You might say you wouldn't go there for the ambiance but i think it adds to the experience. Unfortunately you cant byo beer however the beer is very cheap. I've only ever had one disappointing meal which was satay beef which i got take away (few bits of beef floating around in a sub par satay sauce).

We have been going to this restaurant to about 10 years. I must say this would have to be the BEST Vietnamese restaurant I have been to. It is away from the main shops/restaurants on Victoria street so easier to find parking and the food is so yummy- you must try the fried ice-cream for dessert.
