First time service was great, food was good and as ordered - second time (and pretty much every time after until my husband refused to get food from here anymore) waited near an hour for one meal, service horrid, people who came in after me were treated well, served quickly and got their meals quickly and I felt like a second glass citizen because I'm not asian. Didn't get what I ordered, had to eat it anyway because wasn't going to wait again for the right order to be made. The staff expect tips for nothing, have poor English skills and generally do not even follow through with simple requests like extra or no sauce, etc.

Love this vegetarian place, ordered pork, assam fish, tofu & vege, and a pot of dried bean curd & some other stuff in it.

I have been craving Vegie hut food ever since I first tried it, and get a bit desperate if I have to go without it for a while. The amount of food they serve for so little price is amazing. The choices on the menu are huge. Staff are very efficient and friendly enough if you engage them in a conversation, but otherwise will leave you alone. The biggest problem is getting a park nearby, especially if you want to pick up takeaway, but it's worth the effort for the food. I can highly recommend the banquet if you are trying it for the first time, as this will give you a taste of some of their best dishes, and you will be amazed by the amount of food you get for about $25 pp.

We showed up on a busy Saturday night without a reservation and the friendly staff still managed to fit us in. The food was a brilliant vegan substitute for all your favourite Chinese dishes. They even had a vegan version of prawn crackers!

Having some buddhist family members, we always find it hard to find restaurant when they come visiting. Vege hut is a proper vegetarian restaurant which does not use onion and garlic at all to many buddhists' requirements. The price is reasonable and the food is delicious. However, booking is always essential as mentioned before - finding a vege restaurant is not easy. I am not a buddhist nor vegetarian....but the food is definitely AWESOME.

Just had my first experience and I'll be back for more.
It was really busy and close to the end of lunch service, but the staff greeted us cheerfully and were very helpful.
I had the mock lamb curry with rice. It was very tasty, a mild and creamy curry sauce.
The food arrived quite quickly and was a good price.
Excellent hot pot of tea too!

I heard the chef went overseas just to learn the traditional mock meat making skills that has been around for thousands of years. The skills have been reflected in the dishes. My favourite dish has to be the whole fish. The fish looks and tastes real!

This restaurant is a fantastic one for both vegetarians as well as non-vegetarians. I am not a vegetarian but I love the amount of variety of dishes they have. one of my favourite is the vegetarian duck. it is crispy and very nice. I took an Indian vegetarian friend their once and it was absolutely excited by all the different dishes he can try (esp the vegetarian meats). the service is pretty alright and the decor of the restaurant is very nice.

The food at Vegie Hut is delicious - and I'm not a vegetarian! I have a lot of vegitarian friends and they love eating here too. The food donesn't take too long too arrive and it's affordable. It's all neatly presented and still delious, even though I do eat meat. One thing I can't stand though, is vegetarian meat. Yuck!
