Sat outside as it was a lovely day but it seemed the waitress forgot we were out there! The food was tasty, but really overpriced for what we ordered - calamari. It might be nice to just sit out the front and have a cuppa.

We were quite disappointed with our lunch here recently. The venue is beautifully decked out and the new bar area looked lovely, so we were excited about giving it a go.
However, we all had a different pasta dish and not one of us particularly enjoyed it. My daughter had the "pasta with cheesy sauce" and it was SO cheesy it was deemed inedible. My partner tried it to see why our daughter wouldnt eat it, and he complained of still feeling queasy from it about half an hour later.
I'd be willing to give it another go (but I'd stay clear of the pasta next time) but I think I'd be hard pressed for my partner to come back with me.
Oh, and the service wasn't brilliant for what we'd have expected. Being that it was a quiet lunchtime that we were there, you'd assume they'd be more relaxed and friendly, but they were neither that nor attentive.

I have visited Verde quite a few times in the past year or two, and never been disappointed. There is a good range of choices on the menu, and an extensive "specials" board with some simple pasta dishes as well as more substantial offerings. Try the Beef Cheek if its available - seriously good. The owner has recently converted what was a small shop next door to a bar, so you can just enjoy a drink with friends or continue on for dinner if you wish. Good idea to book, as it can get quite busy. Verde is not cheap, but it is good value for money.

I went with a friend on a weekday night. It's a beautiful place - and was mostly full with just a few spare tables. The food was the highlight (as it should be in a restaurant) - pizza was on a perfect base and the pasta was good too.
