Don't be put off by the restaurant decor - the food and service more than makes up for it!
A great spot for lunch on a sunny day, overlooking the Hopkins River. I've never had a bad meal here. The menu changes seasonally (sadly, not something all Warrnambool restaurants do), plus there is a great wine list with some local regional wines listed (again, not something a lot of Warrnambool restaurants are offering).
We'll keep coming back. Highly recommended!

Dean came out at short notice to clean my chimney flue last winter. He was fast, efficient, and cleaned up after himself. He was also very affordable.
I found Dean and his wife a pleasure to deal with.

After doing a lot of ringing around for firewood suppliers in the area, we stumbled across 4 Sure Firewood.
What made us choose to head here for our firewood, was the fact that they have a weighbridge in their yard so you can pull your trailer or van right up on it, and only pay for the firewood you take - you are not locked in to a set size. They also had the best priced firewood that I found in the area.
The thing that made us go back time and time again to replenish our stock - was the fact that they are really friendly and lovely to deal with, especially the lady who sometimes tends the front counter.

We had read other reviews but decided to give it a go ourselves. The wait staff don't seem to have an allocated area to look after so just wander around aimlessly. After sitting for about 15 mins with no waitress stopping at our table, we thought it must not be table service. My partner went & ordered at the counter which seemed to throw them in a tizz! The food took a long time to be brought out with my entree arriving after my main (so long after, in fact, that we were about to get up & leave, assuming it had been forgotten).
Terrible service. Okay food.
I do not recommend this place.

I got an 'emergency appointment' within days of ringing. From the receptionist, through to the Dentist, everyone was super friendly and nice.
When the time came for my filling, I was given earphones to block out the drilling (I get anxious about dental work - the drilling especially!) and got to choose which TV channel I could lay back and watch whilst they did the work.
The Dentist went really slowly to put the injection in to numb the area, I barely felt a thing. Then he worked slow and steady, giving me plenty of time to catch my breath and relax my jaw whilst he worked.
I'm really happy I read the reviews on this site to go to this dental clinic.
Highly recommended!

If you are looking for a beautiful country escape, this is the place to go!
On the property are four gorgeous little cottages of varying sizes overlooking bushland.
We stayed in the Tullamore Cottage which was a 2 bedroom cabin that had it's own kitchen, lounge and dining (with wood fire), with outside laundry facilities available.
There was not anything that we needed over our weekend stay - everything was provided. The owners usually collect all firewood and kindling from the bushland on their property however they kindly allowed us to grab a basket and take the kids for a bush walk to allow them the opportunity to grab bits and pieces for that night's fire.
There is also beautiful (expansive) lawns all around the property so we went to the toy shop in nearby Traralgon and bought a ball and spent our days running around playing with the kids.
A BBQ is also on the back of each cottage, so we cooked our lunches outside, and sat on the back table and enjoyed the gorgeous scenery.
The owners were really lovely and made us feel very welcome.
We normally don't go back to the same place twice as we like trying new things, but we can't stop talking about Brigadoon Cottages, so we will definitely be going back!
We highly recommend it to others.

We have been coming here on and off for years and were disappointed when it closed for a while.
But it is now re-opened with new owners who are trying their best to rebuild this gorgeous little pub!
It's a cute little English-style pub in Main Ridge with maps of the United Kingdom and Ireland lining the walls, and beer steins dangling from the ceiling. There are tables outside with a little fire going during winter where you can sit and overlook the beautiful views of the Bay. Or you can head inside and sit by the open fireplace in the dining room or slide in to a little booth in the bar area.
We love it as it is a kid friendly venue. We take a ball up for our kids to kick around the lawned area, or leave them to wander around the little garden path alongside the pub, spotting kookaburras in the trees nearby.
We have always headed here for the venue, and resigned ourselves to the fact that the food wasn't great, however with the new owners (and therefore a new Chef) this is all changing with a more varied menu and with food made with a little love!
The new staff members that are now employed there are super-friendly and made our last trip to The Pig and Whistle so much better.
It is definitely a place to stop for a quiet beer after a winery lunch and enjoy the view and the grounds, or head up for a meal and feel safe in the knowledge that your kids will have a good time too!
At Easter time, they even had chocolates hidden around the gardens for the children to find (shame about some greedy kids with equally-greedy parents who let their kids grab big handfuls, rather than keep a few and leave the rest for other kids there!)

I went in last year to buy my toddler a bike. The young lads I spoke to on two occasions were both very friendly and helpful in answering all my questions.
I later went back to get my daughter a helmet and found the staff member I dealt with then to also be especially helpful. It's like they've been trained to make each customer their #1 priority when speaking to you as they are not hurried or distracted and are all very informative.
I don't think I'd purchase any other items from anywhere but here.

We've been here quite a few times over the past couple of years. The food is bistro-style, so it's nothing fancy or flash (some dishes are definitely better than others) but this place serves a purpose. It allows families a night out without stressing about the kids!
There is both an indoor and (enclosed) outdoor playground to keep the kids amused. The indoor one better suits the toddler age group.
It's a good Mothers Group lunch location!
Occasionally our toddlers may wander off from the playground area un-noticed at lunchtime, but a friendly staff member always directs them back to us with a smile. The bulk of the staff here do go above and beyond!

I have been going here for about a year and a half now and I feel right at home. All the girls are lovely and friendly with welcoming smiles when they see you.
I find it quite affordable (especially considering what some Mornington salon's charge) and love the little touch of a chocolate with my coffee or tea.
There is always a great stack of trash magazines to read allowing me to completely zone out and enjoy being away from the chaos of family life and Amanda doesnt impose on that, which I appreciate!
There have been a couple of instances where I needed to make a last minute appointment and they've always gone out of their way to accomodate me.
A highly recommended salon!
