The Fruit Palace has the best quality fruit & veg.
A great range of dinner items from lasagna, dumplings. sausage rolls, fresh pasta, and Peter Bourchier meats.
Fantastic quiches and lots of frozen berries.
Friendly staff and a great local community go here.

I was surprised to read the earlier reviews as I have found the quality to be fantastic at Victoria Fruit Palace. I will admit I place quality ahead of price when I shop at the greengrocer, as I'd rather buy produce that I know will taste good and last. The staff were really friendly and helpful and I could tell they knew their regulars well. I usually shop at Leaf or Toscanos, but this has become my new regular.

the staff are constantly roaming the store and make you feel as if you were in their way. i asked one if they had any discounted avocados and he replied with a blunt "no" but i could see a pack or two stored behind the counter, reserved for a staff member... so this is a store that puts its staff before a paying customer, nice to know. for those who like to buy the discounted bags to save money, i've come here three times and each time the quality has gotten worse, last time i ended up with half a dozen rotten mangos with roots growing out the pips, i've bought corn on special from them with black and white mold, zucchini covered in scratches with fuzz growing in them, eggplants with dark slimy patches, never again.

the staff here are rude and really weird. the produce is expensive and not that fresh. don't buy the moldy discounted items or you will be bitterly disappointed.

This place has lovely fresh fruit, vegies and herbs. It also has some breads, pastas etc. and a freezer full of frozen berries and other fruit (must buy some frozen mango sometime - yum!) and frozen pasta dinners, as well as a fridge section with cheeses, yoghurts etc. Almost everything you could need for a yummy dinner (especially if you grab some fresh fish from Ripponlea Fish supply next door!) Slightly pricier than the fruit shop down the road but it has a bit more variety - and all the extra non-fruit and veg things!
