This cafe makes an effort with its food - ingredient sourcing, cooking & preparation, presentation, service.
My favourite item is their generously sized and perfectly round organic house-made crumpets served with 3 pots of house-made jam /spreads. Really nice place to go if you are local.

There must be 20 coffee shops in Burgundy Street, most offering some form of meal or snack. Vyve would be towards the head of the queue in my opinion.

Coffee is pretty good, the layout works very well, pricing is relative, and the staff are competent (not fast, but friendly and eventually attentive).

Their food though is really good, and the burgers are worth testing against anything else in the neighbourhood.

However, the go-to dish is the Vanilla Slice - whatever the calory count, whatever else you have to give up, this is worth the trip by itself. Its fabulous. By the first mouthful I had already forgotten how much I paid for it.

Approximate cost: $15

I am pretty sure that Eggs Benedict is back on the menu but my memory is failing me. I remember someone telling me this that it was taken off. But do yourself a favour and get the sourdough toast. It's amazing! And I tweeted them and realised that Nat was the same person who served me and replied to me on Twitter. Friendly service and good menu. I have had breakfast, lunch and dinner there as well. Good place to go if you had been just discharged from Mercy and sick of hospital food for the last 5 days!

Vyve is a great little cafe that serves good breakfasts - unfortunately no eggs benedict on the menu though! I ate here for breakfast before going to visit a relative at The Austin hospital. Food arrived quickly and was nice and hot. Staff lovely and attentive. Location good and close to the train station and hospital. Parking was ok. Pram friendly. Decor modern and spacious.

Approximate cost: $8-14

Great little restaurant/cafe. Exotic foods rarely found in usual cafes and great service too!! Went on a Tuesday night and thought it would be quiet but it was actually quite vibrant and teeming with customers!
