Going to Walrus is an authentic experience. The special fried rice is amazing. I don't know how they do it, but I have gone out of my way to get it a few times. It costs more than other chinese restaurants, but definitely worth it. Very busy on weekend nights and rather crammed in with everyone. But I guess it is part of the experience.

Ordered crab noodles in XO sauce, mixed roasts (3 types), clams in XO sauce and salt and pepper chicken ribs for dinner. Service was friendly and fast. Food tasted great although the noodles would have been better with more sauce. This place can be busy particularly during the weekend so advanced booking is recommended.

I think that Walrus is one of the best Chinese restaurant in Melbourne providing mostly cantonese influenced dishes. They give soup and dessert for free and both are delicious. The stir fried vegetables are cooked to perfection. The stuffed scallop and fried chicken ribs are very very good. Their barbeque selection is also not disappointing. Fresh seafood. You can choose which one you'd like to eat.
